We offer skis for sale with defects in appearance. They are brand new, guaranteed by the manufacturer and have no construction-manufacturing defects. The silkscreen has been scratched during transport or storage in our warehouse. The skis have been resealed after initial drilling. A grading according to their condition has been established: This ski has been classified as 3* i.e. it shows little visible defects.

The Zag Adret 85 is a versatile touring ski, designed for confirmed to expert level skiers that offers a good weight/strength ratio. Light enough to ensure fast ascents, robust enough to enable sporty, dynamic descents, it is designed with a lightweight wood core combined with carbon fiber and reinforced with Kevlar. Less wide than the Adret 88, it nonetheless offers light flotation on light snow, and the absence of heel rocker gives it much better grip on steep slopes. Easy to handle and very light, it saves energy on the way up, while providing plenty of fun on the way down.

On glisshop.co.uk, you may feel overwhelmed by the amount of products we sell. How can you find the right skis, which ones can suit your level, your style or your budget?

Do you fit the bindings on skis?

During the process or your order, we'll ask you to complete a form about the mounting of your bindings. With these details, we will be able to mount the bindings with the correct settings. The release value of the bindings is set by a professional skiman, and according to the norm AFNOR FD S 52-748.

If you don't have your own ski boots when you order, the bindings will be pre-mounted. The final settings can be done :

- by a shop if you are renting your ski boots

Are the skis ready to use?

All skis you purchase on our website are factory-waxed and tuned. This means they are ready to hit the slopes. However, gear tends to wear and in order to keep it in its best shape, you need to maintain base and edges on a regular basis.

Maintaining your skis is essential for a smooth glide and a solit grip. Frequency of maintenance may vary depending on how often you use your skis, or on how damaged they are. We recommend you to wax them every 10 riding days and at the end of the season. Edges need to be tuned up to 2 times per season if you want to keep a good edge control. However, don't overdo it. Tuning is basically scraping off material. If you do it too often, the edges will vanish after some time.

When your base is damaged and shows shallow scratches or rock gouge, it is possible to repair it.

You can get these repairs done by professional ski shop, or if the gouge is only superficial you may repair it yourself. To do so, you will need special tools and materials such as wax, Ptex for repairing bases, edge sharpeners, etc. You can find them on our website.

Is the equipment under guarantee?

All products benefit from a manufacturer guarantee, as long as the damage is caused by a manufacturing defect (may it be hidden or obvious).

Usually, the manufacturer guarantee lasts two years.

Only the manufacturer is able to decide if there has been a 'manufacturing defect' or a 'misuse'. Glisshop is only an intermediary between you and the manufacturer.

The manufacturer's guarantee will not apply if the problem comes from a misuse.
