The race ski from Kastle exists in this softer version. As a remainder, the Austrian brand specialises in high-end alpine skis and made its debut in Nordic with the ambition to acquire the same reputation. As a consequence, this model gratifies us with its very nice construction.

What are the characteristics of the Kastle RX10 2.0 Skate Plus Medium Nordic ski?

Stiffness is often neglected in skating, however if the brands offer different stiffnesses, there must be a good reason. First of all, it is important that the ski flattens quickly if you want the base to plainly fulfil its role in terms of glide. The longer the friction surface with the snow and the quicker it is flat, the more speed the ski will gather. This is one the advantages of a Medium camber, notably for lighter skiers. The other advantage lies in the flexibility of the tip that will have less trouble to float and get out of churned snow, saving you lots of energy. When looking at the structure, one can notice Kastle has not tried to reinvent the wheel but has relied on what currently works on every World Cup model. Honeycomb, double carbon blade, glass fibre plate, a rather common but verry efficient structure. The WC Race Plus base is paired to a universal structure for maximum versatility on the most common temperatures ranging from 0 to –10°C. To talk about its behaviour, this is not a ski with an ultra-noticeable camber, this a comfortable very high-end ski that lets you ski without punishing you. It is definitely accessible to the general public.

Who is the Kastle RX10 2.0 Skate Plus Medium cross-country ski for?
