Description

The Burton Ripcord has a qualitative construction, with a glass-fibre reinforced wood shell glued with a partly bio-based glue, which is more environmentally friendly than the epoxy glue usually used in snowboard manufacturing. Beyond that, its flexible flex and flat camber provide lots of riding comfort throughout the resort.

What is the program of the Burton Ripcord snowboard?

The Ripcord has a directional shape and construction, designed for easy turns and good glide on all types of snow. Thanks to a refined tail, a slightly set back foot position and a slightly more tonic flex on the back of the board, you have maximum control on your rear foot, you can take turns more easily on all terrains and enjoy a natural lift in powder snow. With a fairly soft flex and flat camber that offers a secure grip on the piste while being tolerant of edge faults, you've got the perfect board to draw nice lines on the slopes and once you're confident, you'll have fun in the little powder on the edges of the piste.

Who is the Burton Ripcord snowboard for?

The Burton Ripcord is designed for beginners and inexperienced snowboarders in need of a board that's easy to handle, with which they can learn the basics of snowboarding in a relaxed manner and then progress throughout the resort. We also recommend the Ripcord to occasional snowboarders who just want to enjoy their day on the slopes without getting into trouble.

Tips and advice

The length of your board is extremely important. Several parameters have to be taken into account : Your height, your weight, your level and your program (allmountain-freeride-freestyle). We created a calculator that will tell you what size of board would suit you best, once you've completed these parameters. You can also call us (+33 4 73 26 98 47) to get a personal advice from our experienced team.
The snowboards you'll purchase on our website are all factory waxed and tuned. That means it's ready to hit the slopes. However, that doesn't work forever, and in order to keep your equipment at the top performance, you need to maintain base and edges on a regular basis.
Maintaining your skis is essential to ensure an optimal glide and grip. Frequency of maintenance may vary depending on how often you use your board, or on how damaged it is. We recommend that you wax it every 10 riding days, and at the end of the season. Edges need to be tuned up to 2 times per season if you want to keep a good edge control. However, don't get them overtuned because every tuning takes some of the steel off.

When your base is damaged and shows shallow scratches or rock gouge, it is possible to repair it.

You can get these repairs done by professional ski shop, or if the gouge is only superficial you may repair it yourself. To do so, you will need special tools and materials such as wax, Ptex for repairing bases, edge tuners, etc. You can find them on our website.
