While many snowboards for kids and teens are freestyle twin-tip boards that focus on playability, the Jones Youth Flagship is a freeride snowboard with a very high-quality construction. This includes a top-of-the-range Sintered 8000 Base and eco-friendly materials such as an FSC-certified wood shell, an Eco-Plastic Topsheet top layer, bio-sourced glue and wax, and more.

What is the Jones Youth Flagship snowboard program?

The Youth Flagship features a directional design, offering lots of skills both on and off-piste. Its very pronounced rocker and tapered shape allows you to ride through all types of snow and to jump through big powder without problems. It's easy to place on curves, with good grip on hard snow thanks to the classic camber and Traction Tech 3.0 technology, while maintaining tolerance thanks to the convex shape of the 3D Contour Base 1.0 spatula. Finally, the FSC Classic Core wood shell reinforced with biaxial fiberglass provides all the response and stability needed to set the pace on the slopes, while remaining physically accessible.

Tips and advice

Size of your board?

The length of your board is extremely important. Several parameters have to be taken into account : Your height, your weight, your level and your program (allmountain-freeride-freestyle). We created a calculator that will tell you what size of board would suit you best, once you've completed these parameters. You can also call us (+33 4 73 26 98 47) to get a personal advice from our experienced team.

Is my board ready-to-use ?

The snowboards you'll purchase on our website are all factory waxed and tuned. That means it's ready to hit the slopes. However, that doesn't work forever, and in order to keep your equipment at the top performance, you need to maintain base and edges on a regular basis.

How to maintain your equipment ?

Maintaining your skis is essential to ensure an optimal glide and grip. Frequency of maintenance may vary depending on how often you use your board, or on how damaged it is. We recommend that you wax it every 10 riding days, and at the end of the season. Edges need to be tuned up to 2 times per season if you want to keep a good edge control. However, don't get them overtuned because every tuning takes some of the steel off.

When your base is damaged and shows shallow scratches or rock gouge, it is possible to repair it.

You can get these repairs done by professional ski shop, or if the gouge is only superficial you may repair it yourself. To do so, you will need special tools and materials such as wax, Ptex for repairing bases, edge tuners, etc. You can find them on our website.
