Description

You can't miss the Travis Rice Orca, whether because of the graphic style, the beauty of the shape or the feeling it provides in fresh snow. Very directional, very angular and above all ultra-efficient on the terrain, this board is a true masterpiece. Available only in the sizes 144 and 147, it is designed to be ridden 3 to 6 cm shorter than your usual board size. A part of the profits from sales is donated to the Orca Conservancy, an NGO dedicated to the protection of killer whales.

What is the program of the Lib Tech Travis Rice Orca snowboard?

The Travis Rice Orca has a very directional shape, very bulky in the front, shorter and tighter in the back, with a tail equipped with a special shape cut-out for powder. To accompany this shape, there is also a well setback foot position that increases control over the rear foot. These features provide an impressive lift in powder, completely automatic and effortless. The C2x banana camber also contributes to the flotation and accompanied by a fairly rigid flex, it provides all the stability and responsiveness needed for speed and full engagement during descents. The Orca's short shape is more inviting for short turns, and it's really great for slaloming at full speed between the pines in the backcountry. On hard snow, the C2x camber and the Magne-Traction edges provide the best possible grip.

Who is the Lib Tech Travis Rice Orca snowboard designed for?

We recommend this model to experienced or expert snowboarders looking for a board specifically designed for powder snow, with which they can enjoy 200% of the best snow days of the year.

Tips and advice

The length of your board is extremely important. Several parameters have to be taken into account : Your height, your weight, your level and your program (allmountain-freeride-freestyle). We created a calculator that will tell you what size of board would suit you best, once you've completed these parameters. You can also call us (+33 4 73 26 98 47) to get a personal advice from our experienced team.
The snowboards you'll purchase on our website are all factory waxed and tuned. That means it's ready to hit the slopes. However, that doesn't work forever, and in order to keep your equipment at the top performance, you need to maintain base and edges on a regular basis.
Maintaining your skis is essential to ensure an optimal glide and grip. Frequency of maintenance may vary depending on how often you use your board, or on how damaged it is. We recommend that you wax it every 10 riding days, and at the end of the season. Edges need to be tuned up to 2 times per season if you want to keep a good edge control. However, don't get them overtuned because every tuning takes some of the steel off.

When your base is damaged and shows shallow scratches or rock gouge, it is possible to repair it.

You can get these repairs done by professional ski shop, or if the gouge is only superficial you may repair it yourself. To do so, you will need special tools and materials such as wax, Ptex for repairing bases, edge tuners, etc. You can find them on our website.
