Description

The Salomon Abstract is a twin-tip snowboard, perfectly symmetrical from nose to tail with a perfectly centred foot stance. This model is ideal for switch and freestyle riding, while being playful and versatile.

What is the programme of the Salomon Abstract snowboard?

The Abstract features a wood core reinforced by triaxial fiberglass, which offers a medium flex and lots on responsiveness. It is easy to handle and allows to link turns effortlessly. The traditional camber underfoot provides good grip on hardpack, while the rocker areas on the tips make the board more forgiving and enhance the ability to lift on powder. The twin-tip shape is ideal to ride switch, send tricks and enjoy the backcountry. Finally, the reinforced wood core provides a responsive flex that remains friendly, to have pop and flex for ollies and ride casually.

Who is the Salomon Abstract snowboard for?

The Abstract all-mountain freestyle board is easier to handle than the Huck Knife, thanks to a less pronounced camber. This model is aimed at intermediate/advanced snowboarders looking to progress in freestyle and ride casually on groomers and in the terrain park.

Tips and advice

The length of your board is extremely important. Several parameters have to be taken into account : Your height, your weight, your level and your program (allmountain-freeride-freestyle). We created a calculator that will tell you what size of board would suit you best, once you've completed these parameters. You can also call us (+33 4 73 26 98 47) to get a personal advice from our experienced team.
The snowboards you'll purchase on our website are all factory waxed and tuned. That means it's ready to hit the slopes. However, that doesn't work forever, and in order to keep your equipment at the top performance, you need to maintain base and edges on a regular basis.
Maintaining your skis is essential to ensure an optimal glide and grip. Frequency of maintenance may vary depending on how often you use your board, or on how damaged it is. We recommend that you wax it every 10 riding days, and at the end of the season. Edges need to be tuned up to 2 times per season if you want to keep a good edge control. However, don't get them overtuned because every tuning takes some of the steel off.

When your base is damaged and shows shallow scratches or rock gouge, it is possible to repair it.

You can get these repairs done by professional ski shop, or if the gouge is only superficial you may repair it yourself. To do so, you will need special tools and materials such as wax, Ptex for repairing bases, edge tuners, etc. You can find them on our website.
