Snowboard Wonder

With the Wonder, compared to the entry-level models, we are moving up the range at Salomon. More efficient while maintaining accessibility, it is also equipped with higher quality materials, as evidenced by the Sintered sole, which offers better glide than the extruded soles of the entry-level snowboards.

What is the Salomon Wonder snowboard program?

The Wonder is designed to be easy to handle and to operate on all types of snow. Thus, it has been designed with a slightly set back feet position that allows you to take turns with less effort and also provides a natural lift in fresh snow. This makes sense, as the weight of the rider is shifted backwards, the nose emerges more easily. On hard snow, you get traction and responsiveness thanks to the classic camber section and medium flex, while the rockers make transitions from edge to edge easier and allow the tip to work better on and off piste. Finally, the symmetrical shape allows for ease when switching and good freestyle skills. A very versatile board that's fun to ride!

Size of your board?

The length of your board is extremely important. Several parameters have to be taken into account : Your height, your weight, your level and your program (allmountain-freeride-freestyle). We created a calculator that will tell you what size of board would suit you best, once you've completed these parameters. You can also call us (+33 4 73 26 98 47) to get a personal advice from our experienced team.

Is my board ready-to-use ?

The snowboards you'll purchase on our website are all factory waxed and tuned. That means it's ready to hit the slopes. However, that doesn't work forever, and in order to keep your equipment at the top performance, you need to maintain base and edges on a regular basis.

How to maintain your equipment ?

Maintaining your skis is essential to ensure an optimal glide and grip. Frequency of maintenance may vary depending on how often you use your board, or on how damaged it is. We recommend that you wax it every 10 riding days, and at the end of the season. Edges need to be tuned up to 2 times per season if you want to keep a good edge control. However, don't get them overtuned because every tuning takes some of the steel off.

When your base is damaged and shows shallow scratches or rock gouge, it is possible to repair it.

You can get these repairs done by professional ski shop, or if the gouge is only superficial you may repair it yourself. To do so, you will need special tools and materials such as wax, Ptex for repairing bases, edge tuners, etc. You can find them on our website.
