Description

The Custom Flying V is an alternative version of the famous Burton Custom, equipped with a hybrid camber that mixes reverse camber and classic camber to give you more forgiveness on the piste but also more lift in powder. Otherwise, we find the same twin directional shape and the same wood core reinforced with carbon, for a board that is both dynamic and playful.

What is the program of the Burton Custom Flying V snowboard?

The Custom Flying V offers a good balance between performance and accessibility. Its carbon-reinforced wood core provides responsiveness while remaining quite flexible in the tips. On piste, it offers a secure grip while remaining tolerant of edge errors, perfect for technical tricks in the flat. Off-piste, the back foot position and the Flying V camber offer great flotation and a playful ride, which will delight backcountry freestyle and powder riders. It's a really responsive and playful board that's easy to ride and still has great switch and freestyle skills even with its directional twin shape.

Who is the Burton Custom Flying V snowboard for?

We recommend it to intermediate or advanced snowboarders who are looking for a versatile and playful board, ideal for freestyle throughout the resort and very fun to ride both on and off piste.

Tips and advice

The length of your board is extremely important. Several parameters have to be taken into account : Your height, your weight, your level and your program (allmountain-freeride-freestyle). We created a calculator that will tell you what size of board would suit you best, once you've completed these parameters. You can also call us (+33 4 73 26 98 47) to get a personal advice from our experienced team.
The snowboards you'll purchase on our website are all factory waxed and tuned. That means it's ready to hit the slopes. However, that doesn't work forever, and in order to keep your equipment at the top performance, you need to maintain base and edges on a regular basis.
Maintaining your skis is essential to ensure an optimal glide and grip. Frequency of maintenance may vary depending on how often you use your board, or on how damaged it is. We recommend that you wax it every 10 riding days, and at the end of the season. Edges need to be tuned up to 2 times per season if you want to keep a good edge control. However, don't get them overtuned because every tuning takes some of the steel off.

When your base is damaged and shows shallow scratches or rock gouge, it is possible to repair it.

You can get these repairs done by professional ski shop, or if the gouge is only superficial you may repair it yourself. To do so, you will need special tools and materials such as wax, Ptex for repairing bases, edge tuners, etc. You can find them on our website.
