Description

The Chromatic has been carefully manufactured in the American factory Mervin, which proceeds in an eco-responsible way using sustainably produced electricity, working with materials with low environmental impact such as wood, bio-plastic, soy to make elastomers, etc.

What is the program of the Gnu Chromatic snowboard?

The Gnu Chromatic is a twin directional board designed for an all-mountain or versatile/freestyle practice. In fact, it has a slightly reclined foot position that allows you to ride in powder snow and gives you more control and manoeuvrability in curves on all types of terrain. However, it has the same width at the nose as at the tail, which provides ease during switch and therefore allows you to do a bit of freestyle. Finally, the hybrid camber and well-balanced flex offers lots of forgiveness and comfort on all types of snow, but keeps the board reactive with pop. Thus, it's a snowboard that offers you complete freedom and can alternate between descents on the slopes, small jumps on the edges of the slope or freestyle sessions at the snowpark.

Who is the Gnu Chromatic snowboard for?

We recommend this model to intermediate or advanced snowboarders looking to vary the fun at resort, whilst maintaining a playful and accessible board.

Tips and advice

The length of your board is extremely important. Several parameters have to be taken into account : Your height, your weight, your level and your program (allmountain-freeride-freestyle). We created a calculator that will tell you what size of board would suit you best, once you've completed these parameters. You can also call us (+33 4 73 26 98 47) to get a personal advice from our experienced team.
The snowboards you'll purchase on our website are all factory waxed and tuned. That means it's ready to hit the slopes. However, that doesn't work forever, and in order to keep your equipment at the top performance, you need to maintain base and edges on a regular basis.
Maintaining your skis is essential to ensure an optimal glide and grip. Frequency of maintenance may vary depending on how often you use your board, or on how damaged it is. We recommend that you wax it every 10 riding days, and at the end of the season. Edges need to be tuned up to 2 times per season if you want to keep a good edge control. However, don't get them overtuned because every tuning takes some of the steel off.

When your base is damaged and shows shallow scratches or rock gouge, it is possible to repair it.

You can get these repairs done by professional ski shop, or if the gouge is only superficial you may repair it yourself. To do so, you will need special tools and materials such as wax, Ptex for repairing bases, edge tuners, etc. You can find them on our website.
