Description

The Jones Frontier is a freeride type snowboard due to its directional shape and flex, yet it offers reasonable performance to remain accessible and comfortable to ride.

What is the program of the Jones Frontier snowboard?

The Frontier is the ideal everyday board for freeriding in the entire resort, with a good balance between performance and playfulness. To do so, you find a wood core reinforced by biaxial glass fibre, a traditional construction offering durability and a punchy but not too stiff flex. What you need to link turns, descent after descent without burning your legs nor be technically uncomfortable, as the stiffer a board is the less forgiving it is. The classic camber is combined to rocker at the front and back as well as Traction Tech 2.0 edges, the whole providing efficient grip on piste, smooth edge to edge transfers and good glide off-piste. The lift and floatability are good in powder, all the more thanks to the directional shape of the board and setback stance.

Who is the Jones Frontier snowboard for?

Accessible from the intermediate level, this model will satisfy a progressing snowboarder who wants to take its riding toward freeride.

What are the main assets of the Jones Frontier snowboard?

Tips and advice

The length of your board is extremely important. Several parameters have to be taken into account : Your height, your weight, your level and your program (allmountain-freeride-freestyle). We created a calculator that will tell you what size of board would suit you best, once you've completed these parameters. You can also call us (+33 4 73 26 98 47) to get a personal advice from our experienced team.
The snowboards you'll purchase on our website are all factory waxed and tuned. That means it's ready to hit the slopes. However, that doesn't work forever, and in order to keep your equipment at the top performance, you need to maintain base and edges on a regular basis.
Maintaining your skis is essential to ensure an optimal glide and grip. Frequency of maintenance may vary depending on how often you use your board, or on how damaged it is. We recommend that you wax it every 10 riding days, and at the end of the season. Edges need to be tuned up to 2 times per season if you want to keep a good edge control. However, don't get them overtuned because every tuning takes some of the steel off.

When your base is damaged and shows shallow scratches or rock gouge, it is possible to repair it.

You can get these repairs done by professional ski shop, or if the gouge is only superficial you may repair it yourself. To do so, you will need special tools and materials such as wax, Ptex for repairing bases, edge tuners, etc. You can find them on our website.
