Description

The Hovercraft is one of Jones’ flagship models. At Glisshop we love it with its wood clad top sheep and magnificent directional shape ending in a rather rounded fish tail. Very enjoyable to ride, it requires good technique yet remains accessible.

What is the program of the Jones Hovercraft snowboard?

The Jones Hovercraft works on any type of snow. Slightly wider than a traditional snowboard to improve floatability, which is already good thanks to the setback stance, directional shape and rocker areas. This width also provides beautiful sensations on piste, where the classic camber and torsional stiffness of the Hovercraft ensure firm edging to carve powerfully. It handles very well, it is really well-balanced between performances on and off-piste.

Who is the Jones Hovercraft snowboard for?

The Hovercraft is designed for advanced snowboarders looking for a performance directional board, enjoyable to ride descent after descent in the entire resort, no matter the conditions.

What are the main assets of the Jones Hovercraft snowboard?

Tips and advice

The length of your board is extremely important. Several parameters have to be taken into account : Your height, your weight, your level and your program (allmountain-freeride-freestyle). We created a calculator that will tell you what size of board would suit you best, once you've completed these parameters. You can also call us (+33 4 73 26 98 47) to get a personal advice from our experienced team.
The snowboards you'll purchase on our website are all factory waxed and tuned. That means it's ready to hit the slopes. However, that doesn't work forever, and in order to keep your equipment at the top performance, you need to maintain base and edges on a regular basis.
Maintaining your skis is essential to ensure an optimal glide and grip. Frequency of maintenance may vary depending on how often you use your board, or on how damaged it is. We recommend that you wax it every 10 riding days, and at the end of the season. Edges need to be tuned up to 2 times per season if you want to keep a good edge control. However, don't get them overtuned because every tuning takes some of the steel off.

When your base is damaged and shows shallow scratches or rock gouge, it is possible to repair it.

You can get these repairs done by professional ski shop, or if the gouge is only superficial you may repair it yourself. To do so, you will need special tools and materials such as wax, Ptex for repairing bases, edge tuners, etc. You can find them on our website.
