Description

The Standard is an entry-level model from K2. Simple, accessible, robust and safe, it is a great snowboard to start with. Everything is designed to make it easy to ride, with a flat camber offering a great compromise between edge control and forgiveness, an accessible flex, etc.

What is the program of the K2 Standard snowboard?

The K2 Standard has a wood core that offers a soft flex, making it easy to handle and not physically demanding. Its flat camber provides a secure grip on groomed slopes, allowing you to learn turns without pushing yourself to the edge. In addition, the rocker zones on the front and back tips make the transitions between turns smoother, while making it easier to glide through soft snow and light powder. So, you can ride on the edges of the slopes without any problem. Finally, the slightly set back position of the binding inserts gives you more control over the rear foot, which again makes it easier to ride the board. You're in the best position to start. When you feel comfortable, don't hesitate to try your first freestyle tricks!

Who is the K2 Standard snowboard for?

This model is designed for snowboarders who are new to snowboarding or who have only a few days of riding in their repertoire. We therefore recommend it to beginners or intermediate snowboarders.

Tips and advice

The length of your board is extremely important. Several parameters have to be taken into account : Your height, your weight, your level and your program (allmountain-freeride-freestyle). We created a calculator that will tell you what size of board would suit you best, once you've completed these parameters. You can also call us (+33 4 73 26 98 47) to get a personal advice from our experienced team.
The snowboards you'll purchase on our website are all factory waxed and tuned. That means it's ready to hit the slopes. However, that doesn't work forever, and in order to keep your equipment at the top performance, you need to maintain base and edges on a regular basis.
Maintaining your skis is essential to ensure an optimal glide and grip. Frequency of maintenance may vary depending on how often you use your board, or on how damaged it is. We recommend that you wax it every 10 riding days, and at the end of the season. Edges need to be tuned up to 2 times per season if you want to keep a good edge control. However, don't get them overtuned because every tuning takes some of the steel off.

When your base is damaged and shows shallow scratches or rock gouge, it is possible to repair it.

You can get these repairs done by professional ski shop, or if the gouge is only superficial you may repair it yourself. To do so, you will need special tools and materials such as wax, Ptex for repairing bases, edge tuners, etc. You can find them on our website.
