Description

If you’re looking for a way to increase the amount of fun you get when you surf on powder and if you want to add a touch of freestyle to your ride, then the First Call by Salomon is for you.

What can the Salomon FIRST CALL snowboard do?

The First Call may be the last one as well. Try this board and you’ll never want to ride another one. Salomon reached perfection. The board features a Rock Out camber offering the perfect mix of stability, reactivity and floatability. The All-mountain edges deliver outstanding edge control on difficult terrains and make the board rail through the turns with a silky feel. The basalt construction absorbs chatter and vibrations efficiently and allows riders to get the speed cranked up with confidence. It also makes the board more responsive and incredibly pleasant on deep powder. If you want to be the next king of the backcountry, the First Call is your call.

Who is the Salomon FIRST CALL snowboard designed for?

This is a board suited for advanced and expert riders looking for a powder board with a freestyle DNA. This means the board is floaty and nimble and can easily deal with any obstacle the mountain throws at it. However, you do need to pick the length carefully. We recommend the 151 for running through the trees, the 157 for riding anywhere and the 162 for big mountain sessions.

Tips and advice

The length of your board is extremely important. Several parameters have to be taken into account : Your height, your weight, your level and your program (allmountain-freeride-freestyle). We created a calculator that will tell you what size of board would suit you best, once you've completed these parameters. You can also call us (+33 4 73 26 98 47) to get a personal advice from our experienced team.
The snowboards you'll purchase on our website are all factory waxed and tuned. That means it's ready to hit the slopes. However, that doesn't work forever, and in order to keep your equipment at the top performance, you need to maintain base and edges on a regular basis.
Maintaining your skis is essential to ensure an optimal glide and grip. Frequency of maintenance may vary depending on how often you use your board, or on how damaged it is. We recommend that you wax it every 10 riding days, and at the end of the season. Edges need to be tuned up to 2 times per season if you want to keep a good edge control. However, don't get them overtuned because every tuning takes some of the steel off.

When your base is damaged and shows shallow scratches or rock gouge, it is possible to repair it.

You can get these repairs done by professional ski shop, or if the gouge is only superficial you may repair it yourself. To do so, you will need special tools and materials such as wax, Ptex for repairing bases, edge tuners, etc. You can find them on our website.
