Description

The Idol is Salomon's freeride's high-end board for women and Annie Boulanger's signature model. The board is designed for shredding powder and features a construction incorporating the brand's best technologies. With its Cross Profile the board delivers high performance on pow and lays the smoothest curves ever. The traditional unerfoot camber provides tons of edge control while the rockered tips enhance playfulness and floatability. Get your hands on it while you can, this is our best recommendation.

What our testers say: Even if the Idol is a freeride-oriented board, it is a board of character with lots of power, it delivers stunning performance on groomers. The edges lock into turns with ease and you'll have no problem if you like carving. Technical riders should like it. And it's on powder that the board excels. You get the loose feel of rockers with that incredible floaty and nimble feel. Manoeuvering through the deep is intuitive and seriously enjoyable. You can even do runs in the park if you feel like it, the board won't slow you down.

Tips and advice

The length of your board is extremely important. Several parameters have to be taken into account : Your height, your weight, your level and your program (allmountain-freeride-freestyle). We created a calculator that will tell you what size of board would suit you best, once you've completed these parameters. You can also call us (+33 4 73 26 98 47) to get a personal advice from our experienced team.
The snowboards you'll purchase on our website are all factory waxed and tuned. That means it's ready to hit the slopes. However, that doesn't work forever, and in order to keep your equipment at the top performance, you need to maintain base and edges on a regular basis.
Maintaining your skis is essential to ensure an optimal glide and grip. Frequency of maintenance may vary depending on how often you use your board, or on how damaged it is. We recommend that you wax it every 10 riding days, and at the end of the season. Edges need to be tuned up to 2 times per season if you want to keep a good edge control. However, don't get them overtuned because every tuning takes some of the steel off.

When your base is damaged and shows shallow scratches or rock gouge, it is possible to repair it.

You can get these repairs done by professional ski shop, or if the gouge is only superficial you may repair it yourself. To do so, you will need special tools and materials such as wax, Ptex for repairing bases, edge tuners, etc. You can find them on our website.
