To learn snowboarding, progress while having fun up to the intermediate level and start freestyling, the Lotus snowboard is ideal. With its 100 % twin-tip shape and soft flex, it is a versatile board with which you will have a blast in the entire resort and learn proper skills in the process. Thanks to its flat camber and rockers at the tips, you will be able to make it turn easily on any type of snow.

What is the program of the Salomon Lotus snowboard?

While the flat camber of the Lotus provides less power and grip in the turns compared to a classic camber, it makes pivoting easier. This way, you can initiate turns quickly and effortlessly, which will provide lots of nimbleness. The edges and soft wood construction are designed to provide forgiveness to the board that is able to forgive technical mistakes and limit the risk of catching an edge. The front and back rockers allow you to turn with more ease on any type of snow, notably in shallow powder, where they will also allow the board to lift. The board’s soft flex also allows it to be easy to handle, so that you can quickly link turns and have fun slaloming on the slopes. With a flexible board such as the Lotus you will avoid being exhausted too quickly- a good thing to have enough energy to get a drink with your friends at the end of the day!

Tips and advice

Size of your board?

The length of your board is extremely important. Several parameters have to be taken into account : Your height, your weight, your level and your program (allmountain-freeride-freestyle). We created a calculator that will tell you what size of board would suit you best, once you've completed these parameters. You can also call us (+33 4 73 26 98 47) to get a personal advice from our experienced team.
The snowboards you'll purchase on our website are all factory waxed and tuned. That means it's ready to hit the slopes. However, that doesn't work forever, and in order to keep your equipment at the top performance, you need to maintain base and edges on a regular basis.
Maintaining your skis is essential to ensure an optimal glide and grip. Frequency of maintenance may vary depending on how often you use your board, or on how damaged it is. We recommend that you wax it every 10 riding days, and at the end of the season. Edges need to be tuned up to 2 times per season if you want to keep a good edge control. However, don't get them overtuned because every tuning takes some of the steel off.

When your base is damaged and shows shallow scratches or rock gouge, it is possible to repair it.

You can get these repairs done by professional ski shop, or if the gouge is only superficial you may repair it yourself. To do so, you will need special tools and materials such as wax, Ptex for repairing bases, edge tuners, etc. You can find them on our website.
