Description

The Salomon Sight is a snowboard suited both to the need of demanding beginners in terms of forgiveness and ease, as well as more experienced riders looking for a playful, fun board able to venture in the entire resort.

What is the program of the Salomon Sight snowboard?

The Salomon Sight is a versatile freeride board that offers some responsiveness with its medium flex, while being easy to handle. It has a directional shape, meaning its shape is symmetrical from nose to tail but the inserts are slightly positioned toward the tail. This offers a good balance between freedom of discipline (the symmetrical aspect allows to ride switch) and manoeuvrability in deep snow, as the setback foot stance allows to turn with more ease and float over pow effortlessly. The profile of the board is also designed to promote versatility, as the classic camber between the feet provides pop and grip on groomers, while the rockers at the tips facilitate lift in shallow powder or deeper snow in the backcountry. The Popster wood core takes care of providing stability and dynamism without making this board too demanding, to enjoy riding and having fun in the entire resort.

Who is the Salomon Sight snowboard ideal for?

The Salomon Sight snowboard is geared toward rather intermediate level snowboarders who want to progress in freeride while retaining some flexibility to enjoy lap after lap without getting exhausted. Its forgiving construction allows it to be also a good option for a beginner snowboarder with good physical condition and who wants a board with which he will be able to progress for a long period of time.

Tips and advice

The length of your board is extremely important. Several parameters have to be taken into account : Your height, your weight, your level and your program (allmountain-freeride-freestyle). We created a calculator that will tell you what size of board would suit you best, once you've completed these parameters. You can also call us (+33 4 73 26 98 47) to get a personal advice from our experienced team.
The snowboards you'll purchase on our website are all factory waxed and tuned. That means it's ready to hit the slopes. However, that doesn't work forever, and in order to keep your equipment at the top performance, you need to maintain base and edges on a regular basis.
Maintaining your skis is essential to ensure an optimal glide and grip. Frequency of maintenance may vary depending on how often you use your board, or on how damaged it is. We recommend that you wax it every 10 riding days, and at the end of the season. Edges need to be tuned up to 2 times per season if you want to keep a good edge control. However, don't get them overtuned because every tuning takes some of the steel off.

When your base is damaged and shows shallow scratches or rock gouge, it is possible to repair it.

You can get these repairs done by professional ski shop, or if the gouge is only superficial you may repair it yourself. To do so, you will need special tools and materials such as wax, Ptex for repairing bases, edge tuners, etc. You can find them on our website.
