Alpine Ski Black Crows Ova Birdie

Ski sold without binding.

The Black Crows Ova Birdie is a women ski is the most powerful ski on the slope of the Birdie serie. Its 85mm waist permits quick edge to edge changes, the slight tip rocker allows an intuitive turn initiation while the flat tail provides the needed precision to carve at max speed. This ski developed exclusively for women is different from the men’s model with its narrowest ends, a softer flex and shorter lengths.

What can the Black Crows Ova Birdie ski do?

The Ova Birdie is a slope orientated ski rather than powder. Its classic camber provides a great edge hold and the flat tail delivers a good kick out of turns. The most athletic riders can push on the ski as much as they want and carve with style. With this ski you can attack any red and black runs non-stop  thoughtlessly and have a max of sensations. If you got some fresh powder overnight, you can also smear some pow on the sides of the pistes. The slight tip rocker eases the glide and makes it more fluid no matter the quality of the snow. The Ova Birdie will also be at ease in the soft spring now.

Who is the Black Crows Ova Birdie ski designed for?

This women’s model is designed for confirmed skiers looking for a slope ski able to go out of the beaten path to enjoy the latest snowfall. The intermediate skiers will find in the 2017 Ova Birdie an evolutive ski to follow them along their progression to go up to the next level.

Structure - Construction

  • Laminated woodcore  :

Woodcores have been used in the ski industry for ages. Thanks to its mechanical properties, its durability and the amount of possible combinations in terms of flex and torsion, wood remains the reference for top-of-range cores. They provide stability, rebounce, eliminate vibrations, and are extremely durable.

  • Semi Cap  :

Semi-capped sidewalls are a good way to unify the sides with the top of the ski and maintain the strength of vertical sidewalls.

    Facilitates rotation.

Camber type

  • Classic camber  :

When the ski sits flat on the ground, the tip and the tail are in contact with it while the midsection rises above. It is this section that maximises the energy transmission towards the edge, ideal for piste skiing. It also provides a rebound which enhances energy return and pop.

Technology

  • Single Beak  :

Classic camber & single front rocker: handling, power, carving, precision.

Rocker type

  • Tip rocker  :

Skis are more manoeuvrable, contact points on the skis are placed in order to reduce the effective running length, which allows easier pivot and a better float.
