Description

What is an airbag?

Like all airbags on the market, the Reactor bag uses the phenomenon of reverse segregation to keep you on the surface. With airbags that inflate in seconds with a push of the handle, the Reactor bag increases the chances of carrying you on top of the avalanche while smaller objects are pulled down. The inflated bags also act as a shock absorber and limit the impact on rocks.

How does the Reactor avalanche transceiver system work?

As soon as you pull the release handle, the two 75-liter airbags inflate in a few seconds thanks to a double supply system. ARVA has filed no less than 3 patents for this. The shape and positioning of the airbags have been designed to maximize the ascent effect in the avalanche. Without being an infallible guarantee, the ARVA Reactor bag considerably increases the chances of getting out of a snow flow unscathed.

Which gas cylinder to use for the Reactor avalanche transceiver bag?

Designed to withstand internal pressures of over 300 bar, ARVA cylinders are single-use and can only be refilled by ARVA. In terms of standards, the steel cylinders comply with the 2010/35/EU directive. The carbon cylinder complies with the ISO 11119-3 standard.

Features Reactor release system:

  • The folded handle is extremely compact and prevents unwanted triggering.
  • Automatic reset of the handle when the system is activated
  • The cylinder is very compact and light. It complies with international standards and IATA regulations for air transport of luggage by passengers.
  • The independent filling of the 2 airbags guarantees a good inflation reliability
  • The very high inflation power allows an optimal filling of the airbags even with external opposition forces.

Reactor airbag features:

  • Ergonomic airbag shape offering protection for the head.
  • The airbags have an actual volume of 150 liters (2 x 75 liters) and are made of high-strength fabric, in accordance with the new European standard EN16716 tests for only 400g.
  • 4 air intakes protected from the snow to provide the system with a high airflow.
  • The most compact airbag system on the market. Minimum space requirement, no loss of storage volume.
  • Easy transfer of the airbag system into another REACTOR bag.
  • Easy deflation and folding.
  • Airbag with internal separation creating 2 independent volumes, to increase reliability.
  • The internal partition improves the shock absorption capacity of the airbags.
  • Integrated back size, shoulder strap length and handle positioning adjustments.
  • The handle can be oriented in the natural direction of the release movement.
  • The REACTOR is the lightest double airbag system on the market. It weighs only 790g, to which must be added the weight of the cylinder (490g for the steel and 320g for the carbon)
  • Stable airbag shape increases the surface area subject to the ascending phenomenon of reverse segregation.
