What are the advantages of the Picture Organic Clothing down jackets?
Like all of the brand's clothing, Picture Organic Clothing's down jackets are constructed to have the lowest possible environmental impact, while still being technical and high performance. In addition to being certified fair trade by the Fear Wear Foundation, they are made mainly from recycled fibres, mainly polyester, and benefit from multiple technologies.
Quality materials
The exterior of Picture down jackets is generally made from recycled polyester. We can find technologies such as Pertex Quantum or Polartec Power Stretch.
- Pertex Quantum: Made from recycled polyester, the Pertex Quantum membrane allows the insulation to be fully deployed. It is covered with a water-repellent finish.
- Polartec Power Stretch: Made from 84% recycled fibres, this structure uses elastic fibres, with thermoregulatory properties and good durability.
High-performance and environmentally responsible synthetic insulation
Depending on the model, Picture down jackets use different types of insulation, always synthetic and incorporating more or less recycled fibres.
- Primaloft Eco: PrimaLoft Eco insulation uses 60% recycled material and is quite simply the best synthetic insulation on the market, with an excellent weight/heat ratio, breathable properties, softness and good moisture resistance.
- Dupont Sorona: The best alternative to down, Dupont Sorona insulation is made from sustainably sourced plant fibres. It is elastic, light, breathable, warm and moisture resistant.
- Thermal Std: Lightweight and quick-drying, this synthetic insulation made from fine recycled polyester fibres offers insulation similar to down insulation, but retains heat better if the material is damp.
Durable PFC-free Tefloin EcoElite water-repellent treatment
To better protect you from the vagaries of the weather and to ensure good thermal insulation in the widest possible conditions, Picture Organic down jackets benefit from a water-repellent finish. The treatment chosen by the brand is free of perfluorocarbons (PFC). It does not generate any pollution or allergies. Moreover, it is very resistant over time, maintaining 90% of its effectiveness after 10 washes.
