Description
The latest addition to Salomon's skating range is a breath of fresh air. A new type of construction and an exciting sporting character for this ski that links the sport and Race ranges.
What are the characteristics of Salomon S/Max Carbon Skate cross-country skis?
Salomon has been working on an important question in recent seasons, how to adapt the character and dynamism of its racing skis to sports ranges that are more technically and financially accessible for skiers. The answer is there with the S/Max Carbon, which perfectly illustrates the racing character of the brand with a particularly appreciable tolerance. To do this, Salomon used its Thin Ply Carbon construction technology, two carbon plates distributed at the front and rear of the ski that promote better transmission in thrust while eliminating lateral deformation on the most stressed areas. The ski is incisive on compact snow and provides very nice sensations of recovery. These plates are based on a high-density foam core on which there are carbon blades in a spatula to limit weight and maintain good performance at the end of the active thrust. The geometry of the ski is totally inspired by the latest S/Labs with a triangular construction and more material under the foot for a stability worthy of the best. The camber is fully balanced which adds to the dynamic effect as well as the gain in stability with a ski that does not leak under the supports on hard snow. The finish of the footing is in line with what can be expected on this range with a footing... with a versatile structure. To make it simple, Salomon has mixed the technologies of several ski ranges to offer an affordable and technically very precise model.
Who is the Salomon S/Max Carbon Skate cross country skis for?
It is a very good model for skiers who start skiing regularly and who want a sporty and tolerant model. Its behaviour on compact snow is surprisingly dynamic without requiring too much physical effort. It is a very good choice to start to understand the character of a top-of-the-range ski while keeping a maximum of comfort in use. It is also a very good value for money.
