Atomic skis without bindings
Atomic is a modern brand and it knows how to keep up with its time. If the brand was for a long time a famous racing ski maker, it expanded its range of action into other kinds of skis. Nowadays, the name Atomic echoes through the whole mountain as it offers to skiers amazing freeride, freestyle or all-mountain skis designed to perform.
Atomic Bent Chetler
As far as we can remember in the small town of Bishop, California, nobody has ever seen Chris Benchetler elsewhere than on his skis. If he was first skiing in the traditional way, he fell soon enough into the world of Freestyle Backcountry and quickly ended with skiing only on powder. This is where he truly excels and big names like Atomic or Dakine spotted the rising star. This is how the promodel was born 6 years ago and continues to be Chris’s weapon of choice in the backcountry.
Woodcore, Step Down Sidewall construction, 104mm at waist, 30% of rocker in the tip and tail and a Twin-Tip shape. This is the Bent Chetler’s DNA and an iconic freeski. Years of development and innovations have made the skis specs and more recently, Atomic releases the HRZN tech. Tip and tail have a surface increased by 10% which allows more performance in difficult conditions. No doubt this will change the way powder skis are made.
With the Bent Chetler, Atomic is offering a powerful and stable ski, incredibly floaty and agile, perfectly suited for backcountry riders.
‘Olympics, X Games...the ski is designed for big airs and big awards’. This is how Atomic defines the Punx and you might find it a little showy, that’s how it is. The character and the personality of this amazing park ski are outstanding thanks to three main assets: woodcore, Step Down sidewall construction and Resist Edge 2.2.
Its sidecuts are less agressive than a piste-specifc ski and deliver smoother landings and more stability. The Park Rocker profile features 80% of traditional camber and 10% of rocker in tip and in the tail. That keeps the ski intuitive, responsive and extremely nimble.
So Atomic can very well show off with the Punx because the twin tipped ski is a real bomb suited for experienced freestylers. The icing on the cake is, with 86mm at the waist, the ski performs through the park but handles powder and variable terrains with ease. Whether you carve, float, butter or charge, the Punx delivers and will surely give you a blast.
Versatility and performance anytime anywhere...In the end, we quite understand why Atomic is proud of the Punx! Discover also our selection of Atomic ski sets with bindings ready to use.
