Description
This version of the Speedmax 3D Skate is without a doubt the most popular in Fischer’s range. True jack of all trades for European snow conditions, it guarantees performance. Technically, the Austrian brand has done everything to make it a podium machine.
What are the characteristics of the Fischer Speedmax 3D Skate Plus Stiff Nordic ski?
As stated above, the Stiff version is the most versatile on European snow conditions. Very comfortable on compact snow because of its long camber and a construction relying on a honeycomb and HM carbon, ensuring lateral stiffness and dynamism at the end of the push. The Plus base with a versatile structure is particularly indicated for snow temperatures ranging from 0 to -5°C, where it will be the most efficient. Of course, this model benefits from the Cold Base Bonding process, it allows to preserve the molecular structure of the base to better hold wax and be less sensitive to snow changes. As we’re talking about the base, it’s worth mentioning what the 3D system stands for, the name means the ski sidewalls are made of a thin layer of base material. Why? Because they can be waxed to prevent snow from accumulating on the sidewalls and make the ski heavier and altering its balance. However, absolutely never iron wax them, use only cold liquid wax. Regarding the sensations, the strong asset of the Stiff is its balance between aggressivity and forgiveness, allowing to take full benefit of the glide phase and save energy, in addition, efficiency on the push is there. The right ratio between dynamism and camber deformation is perfectly executed, which has always been the reason for the success of Fischer high-end skis.
Useful information:
- All Fischer cross-country skis from this range are pre-waxed to protect the bases during storage and transport. It is required to scrape and brush the skis before using them.
- All Fischer Nordic skis feature IFP plates for Turnamic bindings compatible with NNN, Prolink and Turnamic boot standards.
Who is the Fischer Speedmax 3D Skate Plus Stiff cross-country ski for?
Most advanced model in Fischer’s range, it will suit skiers with foundation skills in skating and who want to go the next level in terms of performance and technicity. This is the most popular ski on the Nordic and Biathlon World Cup for a reason. In addition, the Stiff Plus is suitable for the most common snow conditions found in Europe, guaranteeing some "versatility" if you only own one pair of skis.
What are the main assets of the Fischer Speedmax 3D Skate Plus Stiff XC ski?
- Responsive under foot
- Aggressive and secure skating
- Good balance between dynamism and forgiveness
- The most suitable ski for European snow conditions
