Description

The Skate F3 is the soft snow version in the race range from Madshus. This ski benefits from a unique design imagined by the Norwegian brand’s artists. Very efficient in rather unsupportive snow conditions, it offers incredible skating ease in difficult conditions.

What are the characteristics of the Madshus Redline Skate F3 Nordic ski?

Madshus has based its Redline range on the principle that offering skis for various types of snow conditions is the best solution so that skiers can find the behaviour they need. This is why the F2 and F3 feature the same P300 Nano base that is ultra-versatile in terms of conditions, only the structure changes to adapt to the most likely temperatures for the ski’s program. The F3 is the version for soft snow, meaning it is going to be used the most often on snow around 0°C, either on falling snow, or a snow that is transforming, as long as it remains rather clean. This allows skiers to choose more easily a ski according to the behaviour they want, and if the glide is an essential point for performance, choosing the wrong camber can also turn to be catastrophic. The F3 features a rather short camber that frees up the tips to let the ski float when the snow is transformed. This dramatically reduces the energy required for the transition phase when bringing back the ski under the centre of gravity at the end of the push. The internal construction is the same as the other Redline versions, PR 100X core and full carbon wrapping. This provides all the required dynamism without relying too much on the effect of the camber, making the ski rather accessible. One of the unique features of this model, is the central groove on the base; as is it very short, the ski is not too directive on soft snow, which would ruin the work done on the rest of the ski. The most impressive fact is that the F3 remains really stable nonetheless and in soft snow, the front of the ski does not get stuck in the tracks and offers more freedom and ease.

Useful information:

All Madshus Skate skis feature NIS 7 mounting plates. These plates are exclusively suited to Rottefella bindings compatible with the NNN, Prolink and Turnamic boot standards.

Who is the Madshus Redline Skate F3 cross-country ski for?

This is a specific ski, which means you will need another pair in a ski bag. If you are looking for the most versatile ski from Madshus, pick the F2 that will be suitable for most conditions. However, if you are looking for a pair to add to your bag, to face other conditions, this is where it shines. The people most likely to choose such a model are expert skiers and competitive skiers who often need to have several options depending on the conditions.

What are the main assets of the Madshus Redline Skate F3 XC ski?

  • Amazing on soft snow
  • Nice stability
  • Well-balanced dynamism for these conditions
  • Made in the Norwegian factory of Biri near Lillehammer
