Description

Note: The colour of the bases may be different from the picture displayed on the website, manufacturers combine colours randomly.

The Burton Ripcord combines quality and durability thanks to a fiberglass-reinforced wood core and mostly eco-friendly glue. This alternative to epoxy glue is more environmentally friendly. In addition, its flex and camber profile guarantee a pleasant riding experience in the entire ski area.

What is the Burton Ripcord snowboard made for?

The Ripcord has a directional shape and construction, designed for easy handling and good glide on all types of snow. Thanks to a tapered tail, a slightly set back foot stance and a slightly stiffer flex on the tail, you get maximum back foot control, easy turn initiations on every terrain and natural floatability on powder. The soft flex, combined to a flat camber, offers confidence inspiring grip on groomers while being forgiving. This board is perfect to trace beautiful lines on groomers and venture with confidence on powder in the side country.

Who is the Burton Ripcord snowboard aimed at?

The Burton Ripcord is designed for beginners and inexperienced snowboarders in need of a board that's easy to handle, with which they can learn the basics of snowboarding smoothly. We also recommend the Ripcord to recreational snowboarders who simply want to enjoy their day on the slopes at their own pace.

Tips and advice

The length of your board is extremely important. Several parameters have to be taken into account : Your height, your weight, your level and your program (allmountain-freeride-freestyle). We created a calculator that will tell you what size of board would suit you best, once you've completed these parameters. You can also call us (+33 4 73 26 98 47) to get a personal advice from our experienced team.
The snowboards you'll purchase on our website are all factory waxed and tuned. That means it's ready to hit the slopes. However, that doesn't work forever, and in order to keep your equipment at the top performance, you need to maintain base and edges on a regular basis.
Maintaining your skis is essential to ensure an optimal glide and grip. Frequency of maintenance may vary depending on how often you use your board, or on how damaged it is. We recommend that you wax it every 10 riding days, and at the end of the season. Edges need to be tuned up to 2 times per season if you want to keep a good edge control. However, don't get them overtuned because every tuning takes some of the steel off.

When your base is damaged and shows shallow scratches or rock gouge, it is possible to repair it.

You can get these repairs done by professional ski shop, or if the gouge is only superficial you may repair it yourself. To do so, you will need special tools and materials such as wax, Ptex for repairing bases, edge tuners, etc. You can find them on our website.
