Description

The Black Snowboard Of Death is a snowboard developed by Capita to offer you maximum performance on all terrains, while maintaining the possibility of freestyle riding. It has a high-end construction with a wood shell reinforced with carbon stringers, carbon plates in the inserts and carbon/linen reinforcements in the tips for more performance and cushioning. It is also directional, with a slightly thinner and stiffer tail, but also inserts set back just over 1cm.

What is the program of the Capita The Black Snowboard Of Death?

The BSOD is no joke. Offering power and cushioning, it is ready to engage on all terrains. It offers a good grip on hard snow thanks to the classic camber, with a lot of precision and control thanks to its directional flex and shape. The rocker in the front tip makes edge-to-edge transitions smooth and improves off-piste lift.  It's not a powder board, but it's still very good on the edges of the slopes and when the snow is not too deep. Most importantly, it maintains a lot of balance in switch and is not too stiff either, so you can pull a trick out of your hat at any time. A very good board for strong all-mountain/freeride riding!

Who is the Capita The Black Snowboard Of Death for?

We recommend this model to advanced or expert snowboarders looking for a powerful and versatile board with which they will be able to ride hard on all terrains, while maintaining comfort and a bit of playability for freestyle.

Tips and advice

The length of your board is extremely important. Several parameters have to be taken into account : Your height, your weight, your level and your program (allmountain-freeride-freestyle). We created a calculator that will tell you what size of board would suit you best, once you've completed these parameters. You can also call us (+33 4 73 26 98 47) to get a personal advice from our experienced team.
The snowboards you'll purchase on our website are all factory waxed and tuned. That means it's ready to hit the slopes. However, that doesn't work forever, and in order to keep your equipment at the top performance, you need to maintain base and edges on a regular basis.
Maintaining your skis is essential to ensure an optimal glide and grip. Frequency of maintenance may vary depending on how often you use your board, or on how damaged it is. We recommend that you wax it every 10 riding days, and at the end of the season. Edges need to be tuned up to 2 times per season if you want to keep a good edge control. However, don't get them overtuned because every tuning takes some of the steel off.

When your base is damaged and shows shallow scratches or rock gouge, it is possible to repair it.

You can get these repairs done by professional ski shop, or if the gouge is only superficial you may repair it yourself. To do so, you will need special tools and materials such as wax, Ptex for repairing bases, edge tuners, etc. You can find them on our website.
