Snowboard The Equalizer By Jess Kimura

The Capita The Equalizer was developed for snowboarder Jess Kimura, who came from a street freestyle background and now rides a lot in the backcountry. It is a board that combines the playfulness of freestyle with the floatation needed in the backcountry. It has a directional shape, with a sharp nose and a more classic tail, more rocker in the front than in the back, and a slightly back foot position to increase flotation and manoeuvrability without losing switch ability. This formula works well on all types of snow, especially with the classic camber section in the centre of the board, which provides the necessary grip for hardpack snow and piste riding. And in case of difficult terrains and chaotic descents, the Superlight wood shell is reinforced with flax and aramid fibres for better shock absorption, while increasing the pop and maintaining the natural flex of the wood. The board is therefore simultaneously more comfortable and performs better. You'll be able to carve great turns throughout the resort and have fun in powder, while maintaining a high level of playability for maximum tricks.

Size of your board?

The length of your board is extremely important. Several parameters have to be taken into account : Your height, your weight, your level and your program (allmountain-freeride-freestyle). We created a calculator that will tell you what size of board would suit you best, once you've completed these parameters. Is my board ready-to-use ?

The snowboards you'll purchase on our website are all factory waxed and tuned. That means it's ready to hit the slopes. However, that doesn't work forever, and in order to keep your equipment at the top performance, you need to maintain base and edges on a regular basis.

How to maintain your equipment ?

Maintaining your skis is essential to ensure an optimal glide and grip. Frequency of maintenance may vary depending on how often you use your board, or on how damaged it is. We recommend that you wax it every 10 riding days, and at the end of the season. Edges need to be tuned up to 2 times per season if you want to keep a good edge control. However, don't get them overtuned because every tuning takes some of the steel off.

When your base is damaged and shows shallow scratches or rock gouge, it is possible to repair it.

You can get these repairs done by professional ski shop, or if the gouge is only superficial you may repair it yourself. To do so, you will need special tools and materials such as wax, Ptex for repairing bases, edge tuners, etc. You can find them on our website.
