Description

With Capita, you are sure to have a beautiful, high performance board made of the best materials. Handmade in an Austrian factory that runs on renewable electricity, The Black Snowboard Of Death is a directional model with an extremely light and tonic wood shell, with various strategic reinforcements and a Hyperdrive Base sole that will make you reach supraluminal speeds.

What is the programme of the Capita The Black Snowboard Of Death?

With its very slightly tapered shape on the back, its big rocker in the front spatula and its stiffer flex on the back, the BSOD is a directional snowboard, designed above all to be ridden forwards, whether you're riding cut on the piste or slaloming between the pines in powder. It remains well-balanced during switch turns and is also suitable for sending a few tricks on the kickers at the edge of the piste. Powerful, light and with cushioning thanks to its central carbon stringers and carbon/linen reinforcements in the spatulas, it takes off in ollie, rebounds in the turns and does not vibrate too much even at very high speeds. It's not such a stiff board though, it won't burn your thighs and you can enjoy it all day long and all over the resort.

Who is the Capita The Black Snowboard Of Death for?

Lightweight and not excessively stiff, this board is nevertheless intended for experienced/expert snowboarders looking for control and stability on all types of snow, but are however looking to maintain playability and ride comfort.

Tips and advice

The length of your board is extremely important. Several parameters have to be taken into account : Your height, your weight, your level and your program (allmountain-freeride-freestyle). We created a calculator that will tell you what size of board would suit you best, once you've completed these parameters. You can also call us (+33 4 73 26 98 47) to get a personal advice from our experienced team.
The snowboards you'll purchase on our website are all factory waxed and tuned. That means it's ready to hit the slopes. However, that doesn't work forever, and in order to keep your equipment at the top performance, you need to maintain base and edges on a regular basis.
Maintaining your skis is essential to ensure an optimal glide and grip. Frequency of maintenance may vary depending on how often you use your board, or on how damaged it is. We recommend that you wax it every 10 riding days, and at the end of the season. Edges need to be tuned up to 2 times per season if you want to keep a good edge control. However, don't get them overtuned because every tuning takes some of the steel off.

When your base is damaged and shows shallow scratches or rock gouge, it is possible to repair it.

You can get these repairs done by professional ski shop, or if the gouge is only superficial you may repair it yourself. To do so, you will need special tools and materials such as wax, Ptex for repairing bases, edge tuners, etc. You can find them on our website.
