Description

Nidecker keeps releasing outstanding products and the Megalight is one of them. A top-notch board that returns year after year with more performance packaged than ever. Its Light Core built from 3 different woods offers 3 different abilities. You get the lightweight from the paulownia, the pop of the poplar and the durability of the beech. That results in a very lively and responsive board boasting a kevlar reinforced structure with addings of carbon and other composite materials as well. This increases its torsional stiffness and makes the board very precise and powerful. The ideal vehicle for assaulting the elements with confidence and destroy any terrain that comes across.

What our testers say : There's one thing we hope for every year when we head to the test sessions. We hope Nidecker still have their Megalight. It remains a board of excellence, a standard of versatility. The board is stiff and powerful with a strong edge bite on hard snow. The traditional camber provides quick responses on groomers while the rocker and the directional shape help the board stay afloat on softer snow. The Megalight is a powerful do-it-all for advanced and expert riders looking for the ultimate shred weapon.

Tips and advice

The length of your board is extremely important. Several parameters have to be taken into account : Your height, your weight, your level and your program (allmountain-freeride-freestyle). We created a calculator that will tell you what size of board would suit you best, once you've completed these parameters. You can also call us (+33 4 73 26 98 47) to get a personal advice from our experienced team.
The snowboards you'll purchase on our website are all factory waxed and tuned. That means it's ready to hit the slopes. However, that doesn't work forever, and in order to keep your equipment at the top performance, you need to maintain base and edges on a regular basis.
Maintaining your skis is essential to ensure an optimal glide and grip. Frequency of maintenance may vary depending on how often you use your board, or on how damaged it is. We recommend that you wax it every 10 riding days, and at the end of the season. Edges need to be tuned up to 2 times per season if you want to keep a good edge control. However, don't get them overtuned because every tuning takes some of the steel off.

When your base is damaged and shows shallow scratches or rock gouge, it is possible to repair it.

You can get these repairs done by professional ski shop, or if the gouge is only superficial you may repair it yourself. To do so, you will need special tools and materials such as wax, Ptex for repairing bases, edge tuners, etc. You can find them on our website.
