Description

The Nidecker has a slightly directional shape that allows for easier turns and improved lift in powder. Its high-quality construction features a wood core embedded in a premium sandwich including carbon, fiberglass and a special anti-vibration layer, the Absorbnid.

What is the program of the Nidecker Merc snowboard?

The Nidecker Merc is a responsive board on all terrains. Its construction offers a lot of energy for a stable and cushioned acceleration, bounce in turns and ollie pop. Yet, it retains some flex in its length, allowing you to link turns with ease, without any burn out. The camber + rocker profile ensures good efficiency on all types of snow, good grip on the piste and easy sliding in powder. This is even more the case with the slightly set back position of the feet, which allows you to get the nose out easily when the snow becomes deep. Finally, you should also know that it remains quite healthy in switch and that you can very well consider doing some freestyle with it.

Who is the Nidecker Merc snowboard for?

Accessible from the intermediate level, the Merc will please a large panel of snowboarders looking for a versatile and scalable boad with which they can progress throughout the resort.

Tips and advice

The length of your board is extremely important. Several parameters have to be taken into account : Your height, your weight, your level and your program (allmountain-freeride-freestyle). We created a calculator that will tell you what size of board would suit you best, once you've completed these parameters. You can also call us (+33 4 73 26 98 47) to get a personal advice from our experienced team.
The snowboards you'll purchase on our website are all factory waxed and tuned. That means it's ready to hit the slopes. However, that doesn't work forever, and in order to keep your equipment at the top performance, you need to maintain base and edges on a regular basis.
Maintaining your skis is essential to ensure an optimal glide and grip. Frequency of maintenance may vary depending on how often you use your board, or on how damaged it is. We recommend that you wax it every 10 riding days, and at the end of the season. Edges need to be tuned up to 2 times per season if you want to keep a good edge control. However, don't get them overtuned because every tuning takes some of the steel off.

When your base is damaged and shows shallow scratches or rock gouge, it is possible to repair it.

You can get these repairs done by professional ski shop, or if the gouge is only superficial you may repair it yourself. To do so, you will need special tools and materials such as wax, Ptex for repairing bases, edge tuners, etc. You can find them on our website.
