The French brand Skimp defines itself as cheeky, exuberant and colorful. Nothing surprising when you know that it’s in altitude, high above the clouds, that the idea of creating colorful plastic belts came to life.
Indeed Charles, the brand’s creator, came up with this idea after forgetting his belt after a security check at the airport. Having took off his belt so that the metal buckle didn’t trigger the safety gantry, he left it behind before taking off for Japan. And so the idea to create colorful plastic belts saw the light of day high up in the sky during a flight between Frankfurt and Tokyo. Nowadays, with the Skimp belts, the safety checks are not a bother anymore.
Colorful, flashy or more discreet, Skimp revisited the belt by giving it some punch along with a nice dose of originality. The accessory is as practical as ever with a fun design, as the brand plays with colors, materials and textures.
