Fischer RCS

All skiers with an interest for cross-country skiing are familiar with Fischer’s ski range, in part because its name dates back to the 80s and in part because over time, it has become the ultimate benchmark in cross-country skiing. Until 2007, the RCS skis were the flagship of the Austrian brand, with some of the greatest records in the history of Nordic skiing, such Norwegian legend Bjorn Daehlie, who won 12 Olympic medals, including 8 golds, and multiple world championship titles, using this range.

The story of the RCS cannot be separated from the growing influence of Fischer at the highest global level. Even though this range now represents the third option in terms of performance in Fischer’s line-up, it remains one of the finest choices for a good many skiers.

            Fischer RCS range: a Benchmark in cross-country skiing

            The RCS skis, in both skating and classic styles, have certainly had their glory days, but they are by no means a relic of the past. They are a great option for many cross-country skiers. Over time, they have benefited from the same innovations as the Speedmax and Carbonlite ranges, while being more forgiving.

            To make it easier to choose based on the skier's build or snow conditions, the RCS skis come in two camber options, Medium or Stiff. Medium is suited for smaller builds or soft snow, and Stiff is for more powerful skiers or very compact snow.

            The choice of base for this range now exclusively focuses on the Plus option, the most versatile base in the range, perfectly suitable for snow conditions between -5 and +5 °C.

            RCS Skate Plus for skating

            The RCS Skate Plus from Fischer is a cross-country ski designed for speed and performance. With a length and geometry tailored for skating, this ski offers excellent lateral push and smooth gliding. Its construction includes Air Core Carbon technology, making the ski light yet robust, essential for efficient power transmission. In addition, the World Cup Pro finish provides a top-quality gliding surface, reducing friction for maximum speeds. The RCS Skate also features World Cup Tip system, which reduces tip vibrations for better stability, even at high speeds. This ski is ideal for intermediate to advanced skiers looking to improve their skating performance.

            RCS Classic for classic style

            The RCS Classic from Fischer is the perfect choice for cross-country skiers who prefer classic. This ski excels with its exceptional balance between glide and grip, a crucial characteristic for classic style. It incorporates Air Core Carbon technology, reducing weight while maintaining optimal stiffness for better power transmission. The RCS Classic's base benefits from a Precision Pairing System finish, ensuring every pair of skis is perfectly matched for uniform performance. Additionally, Speed Grinding technology provides a base finish that improves gliding in a variety of snow conditions. With a double groove for better track stability, the RCS Classic is ideal for skiers of all levels looking to excel in classic cross-country skiing.

            Cross-Country ski boots

            RCS cross-country ski boots are a perfect match for the line’s skis, with two different stiffness options for skating.

            Like the skis, RCS boots have undergone many evolutions, and the latest models for skating are very well-designed, as they provide two options depending on the performance or forgiveness skiers seek. However, on this range of cross-country ski boots, Fischer has focused on comfort above all.

            The RCS Skate for skating

            The RCS Skate boot is the more forgiving of the two, with a PU chassis and collar combination, it offers very satisfying control without causing any discomfort to the ankles or tendons. It's the perfect Fischer model to hone your skills.

            The RCS Classic for classic style

            For classic style, the RC7 has given way to the RCS Classic, a perfect boot for progressing in classic style with a model quite close to the Carbonlite range, which has the advantage of offering a comfortable fit and a very good foot roll.
