The Twin Skin is just as good as it used to be. The ski has raised the standards in the industry of skin skis, it helped many skiers to progress thanks to its forgiving character and its technical abilities. The ski returns unmolested for 2018, only the binding plate was upgraded into an IFP plate designed to comply with Fischer’s new standards of bindings: Turnamic.
What are the specifications of the Fischer Twin Skin Race Medium/Stiff cross-country skis?
The first thing you’ll notice when you try this ski it’s the way it glides. The skin system comes in two thin asymmetrical strips enhancing accelerations during the glide. They spread on a short section under the ski and their thickness varies. They are thicker under the foot and get thinner towards the tip in order to improve the glide without compromising traction. The honeycomb core is reinforced with basalt and delivers an enjoyable flexibility as well as a smooth forgiving feel. The base comes with a Fischer race finish which is probably a world’s best. The Medium/Stiff camber is suitable for heavy skiers or technical ones. It gives the ski a strong personality on hard snow. It is an excellent choice for long sessions of skiing. Last but not least, the IFP system designed to host new Turnamic bindings. With their 7 positions you can adjust them according to current conditions. They are compatible with NNN and Prolink boot systems but they don’t work with SNS systems.
Who is the Fischer Twin Skin Race Medium/Stiff IFP ski designed for?
Sporty and forgiving. These are the words that best describe the Twin Skin Race. If you are a little sporty and in good condition, the ski is manageable. Don’t get scared by the Race name, the construction is fairly different from a pure race ski, it’s far more forgiving and deals with small mistakes. We recommend it for long sessions or for training sessions. It’s an excellent everyday ski to have fun.

Ultra light and torsionally stiff construction. Stable sidewalls. Basalt fibre reduce weight and offer great flex properties, whatever the temperature.
Race ski construction with long, dynamic wax pocket pattern for minimum wax loss through friction. Ideal for: cold conditions and dry wax conditions.
Deeper and coarser Plus structure, ideal for warm and moist conditions. Produced using natural diamond.
The finishing touch now comes from Finish First: the term that covers and unites all the individual technological steps in the course of the final treatment of the base.
Reinforced ski chassis ensures longer service life. Homogeneous pressure distribution ensures uniform wax wear.
The next generation in ski pairing: fully automatic dynamic measurements of a multitude of pairing criteria ensures precise ski choice and optimised pairing.
Infrared preparation of the base with hot fluorinated wax. Great glide properties, protects from dirt and oxydation. Powered by Swix.
Two separate skin strips arranged in offset positions and with variable base-depth integration result in smooth and balanced gliding. Mohair skins ensure you can rely on the kick action, especially in hard or icy conditions. Thanks to the unique Teflon coating of the skins, moisture absorption and subsequent icing is completely minimised.
Thanks to the revolutionary composition of proven materials the elasticity of the body of the ski is extremely increased: this guarantees a forgiving kick action and a new, easy-going skiing experience.
