Description

Since 2018, the Norwegian brand Madshus launched a total revolution on its ranges. The Race Pro Skate is the latest addition to this revival and replaces the Nano Carbon Skate model in the range. It features numerous innovations derived from the Redline World Cup shoe, but with much greater Comfort. A very beautiful shoe that combines comfort, precision and efficiency.   

What are the characteristics of the Madshus Race Pro Skate cross-country ski boot?  

On this model, Madshus has taken the best concepts of the old Nano Carbon Skate model and mixed them with those of the Redline model. You can see this at first glance, as the composite chassis (a mixture of plastic and molten carbon before moulding) remains the same. From a Comfort point of view, this is excellent news, because these buttresses do not constrain the arch of the foot and the heel, which prevents the foot from twitching. The support is excellent and allows for an optimal ski guidance. As far as the collar is concerned, Madshus has opted for the highest quality collar available, the Redline collar. This anatomically shaped, tight-fitting collar provides extraordinary ankle stability and helps to maintain balance while skiing and gliding. Lighter than the old collar, it also has a new Velcro strap that is thinner and wider than the old one. This strap limits the harmful effect of a buckle clamp, which often tends to be readjusted as you go out on the slopes. Once it is in place, it is no longer felt, and does not cause any stress to the ankle flexion. The lacing system is traditional and when it comes to adjustment, it has side flanges that perfectly envelop the foot for greater precision. The lacing cover is also very well crafted and inspired by the Redline model featuring a lightweight, water-repellent and breathable softshell design. The shoe is really refined compared to the old model, it fits better, yet it's only a visual effect, because apart from the collar, the shoe volume and the chassis are identical. With this model, Madshus has perfectly mixed old and new technologies for a sensational Comfort / efficiency compromise. 

Who is the Madshus Race Pro Skate cross-country ski boot for?   

It is a high-performance shoe with the little extra Comfort that you will appreciate if you are not a high-level competitor or used to 100% carbon boots. It is an excellent alternative for athletic skiers looking for a model that combines support and Comfort. Comfort is particularly good for long practices because it does not cause foot fatigue like a carbon frame shoe would.
