Description

Like all Capita snowboards, The Equalizer is manufactured in Austria in a renewable energy plant using FSC certified wood and 60% vegetable-based glue. The Equalizer benefits from a P2 Superlight Core, which is particularly light but offers good impact resistance and lots of pop. The flex is not too stiff and the board is energy efficient, with the addition of aramid and flax fibre reinforcements that improve cushioning while increasing performance. Lightweight, high performance, voluminous, ride comfort and versatility make for a great ride.

What is the programme of the Capita The Equalizer snowboard?

Pro-model of Jess Kimura, this snowboard is designed to be directional while remaining very balanced for switch and freestyle. More rocker and less stiffness at the front than at the rear, it works well on all types of snow and provides control in the ride. The position of the bindings is set back half an inch from the centre of the board, a tiny misalignment that provides a little more lift in powder and control in turns, without diminishing freestyle skills. This shape combined with the light and tonic construction outlined above, make this model a marvel of versatility and performance for freestyle, all-mountain and backcountry.

Who is the Capita The Equalizer snowboard for?

We recommend this model to experienced or expert snowboarders looking for a top-of-the-range board that performs well on all types of snow but retains ride comfort and freestyle playability.

Tips and advice

The length of your board is extremely important. Several parameters have to be taken into account : Your height, your weight, your level and your program (allmountain-freeride-freestyle). We created a calculator that will tell you what size of board would suit you best, once you've completed these parameters. You can also call us (+33 4 73 26 98 47) to get a personal advice from our experienced team.
The snowboards you'll purchase on our website are all factory waxed and tuned. That means it's ready to hit the slopes. However, that doesn't work forever, and in order to keep your equipment at the top performance, you need to maintain base and edges on a regular basis.
Maintaining your skis is essential to ensure an optimal glide and grip. Frequency of maintenance may vary depending on how often you use your board, or on how damaged it is. We recommend that you wax it every 10 riding days, and at the end of the season. Edges need to be tuned up to 2 times per season if you want to keep a good edge control. However, don't get them overtuned because every tuning takes some of the steel off.

When your base is damaged and shows shallow scratches or rock gouge, it is possible to repair it.

You can get these repairs done by professional ski shop, or if the gouge is only superficial you may repair it yourself. To do so, you will need special tools and materials such as wax, Ptex for repairing bases, edge tuners, etc. You can find them on our website.
