Akasha II: The Ultimate Trail Running Shoe

Drop

When investing in a pair of trail running shoes, some runners often wonder what drop to choose. But what is the drop? It's quite simple; it corresponds to the height difference (in mm) between the front of the shoe and the heel. While some runners have a forefoot strike with a midfoot/forefoot landing, 90% of runners first land on their heelwhen running. With a 6 mm drop coupled to a flexible upper, La Sportiva's Akasha 2 shoe facilitates proper foot movement and reduces the impact of your stride on your joints, particularly your knees.

Durability

All the materials used in this shoe are as durable as they are high-performing. Thanks to its design, it is ideal for larger builds and long-distances up to ultra-marathons. It is also be suitable for the intense training that these types of goals entail.

The laces are also reinforced. In addition to ensuring optimal foot support, they are durable!

Optimal Comfort

If there is one thing La Sportiva is known for in the trail running world, it's the comfort of its products. And once again, the Akasha 2 is no exception to the rule. You can sometimes feel cramped in a running shoe. Here, the large internal volume reduces pressure points, frees your foot, and significantly improves comfort. The external heel reinforcement also promotes great stability on more technical terrains.

In terms of materials, the injected EVA foam in the midsole, known for its lightweight and flexible properties, effectively absorbs shocks. Additionally, EVA has insulating properties, helping to keep feet warm in cold weather.

This same sole benefits from Cushion Platform technology, which facilitates a smooth transition between the heel and toes and incorporates additional cushioning layers to absorb impacts. Moreover, the Cushion Platform is designed to provide superior stability and offers excellent arch support, helping to maintain good posture and reduce the risk of injury.

Grip

Thanks to the Frixion Red sole, La Sportiva promises an optimal balance between grip and durability.
