Rossignol X-IUM cross-country ski range: a French success story

Launched in 2000 during the Biathlon World Championships in Oslo, the Rossignol X-IUM range was immediately successful in competition. Thanks to legendary athletes such as Raphaël Poirée et Ol Einar Bjorndalen who were battling for the world title. Ever since, this line that today symbolises Rossignol’s high-end skis excellency has never ceased to progress, grow bigger, to morph into a comprehensive range within reach of a great number of skiers.

Like any respectable cross-country ski brand, Rossignol has developed its range with skating and classic models, a very comprehensive line with the same level of performance for both styles.

            Nowadays, the Rossignol X-IUM range exists under three names for three types of skiers with different skill levels and goals.

            X-IUM for skiers who go out frequently, are progressing and are looking for a dynamic ski, aggressive on hardpack with a high-end base.

            X-IUM WCS for skilled skiers, amateur racers who enjoy the liveliness of Rossignol skis and seek a good balance between camber energy and side-to-side stiffness.

            X-IUM Premium for the most relentless, expert skiers and racers, amateur or elite athletes.

            There’s an X-IUM for everyone. The range has grown bigger to cover a larger public and give access to the French brand’s quality and performance to a greater number of skiers.

            X-IUM cross-country ski boots for a perfect fit and better efficiency

            The same applies to Rossignol X-IUM ski boots, with 3 models with distinct constructions depending on the level and intended use.

            X-IUM WC boot, the first in the range, with a laterally stiff carbon structure and asymmetrical cuff for better forgiveness.

            The X-IUM Premium, was until 2020 the World Cup model. It’s more direct, with symmetrical carbon outsole, chassis, and cuff. This boot has won many cross-country and biathlon World Cup titles.

            The X-IUM Premium Course boot has become Rossignol’s flagship model. It features a moulded outsole/chassis structure for more homogeneity and higher quality carbon.

            Over 20 years of research and development and an impressive collection of Olympic and World medals, the X-IUM range is now the oldest name of racing skis from any brand.
