The Plus version was a hit last year and many of you couldn’t get a pair of this exceptional ski due to availability. Therefore, we are getting a second pair on sale, the Cold version, and it’s a lot more versatile that its name suggests.
What are the specifications of the Madshus Redline Carbon Skate Cold ski?
The Redline Carbon Cold returns for 2018 with an upgraded construction. Torsionally stiffer, the ski excels on compact snow. Despite its Cold name which may scare a few of you, the ski turns out to be super precise on hard and iced snow which most skis designed for cold snow can’t do. This makes it well adapted to morning conditions when the terrain is hard and the ski doesn’t hold well when skating. This character can be explained by the 3D construction incorporating a carbon-reinforced PR100X core. It makes the ski more aggressive on hard snow. Also, camber and geometry help a lot. The tips are almost flat which lengthen the contact surface and enhances stability while the camber gives a good kick and makes the ski lively underfoot. The flex feels just right as it makes balance through easy and yet delivers performance. In terms of glide, the ski performs best on negative snow (<0°C).
Who is the Madshus Redline Carbon Skate Cold ski designed for?
This new ski on our shelves is due to the enthusiasm of our testers during the Nørdic Test Tour. We thought it was a great addition to our current offering and should satisfy many skiers out there. Suited for regular skiers and even racers, the ski is incredibly stable and aggressive on compact snow and it inspires confidence straight away. Easy to skate, it is a ski you won’t regret.

Rohacell high density foam core , developed in aeronautics. Offers extreme resistance and excellent weight/resistance ratio. Stiff and lively.
Triax carbon and fibreglass construction. Great stiffness and torsional rigidity without compromising liveliness and lightweight.
3D Construction helps reducing weight where you don't need it. Keeps the original flex of the core.
CAD (Computer Aided Design) provides Madshus the opportunity to produce skis of incredibly complex 3-dimensional designs to accompany the high performance characteristics of the Madshus RED and Champion skis. From initial testing, Madshus industrial designers and engineers process the feedback from athletes and digitally simulate changes to evaluate current and proposed properties of the skis.
A component of the ski’s overall profile, Madshus Speed Tip offers the perfect splay needed to elongate the ski’s pressure zone, ideal for colder snow conditions.
The P200 Nano Black base is designed for snow temperatures from -1°C to -20°C. High performance on negative temp, it may be the most versatile base from the norwegian brand. With its all terrain structure, the base can face most condition changes easily on cold temperatures. Its construction reduces abrasion on compact and iced snow.
