Description

Line likes to create skis looking like no others, and the Sakana belongs to that category. Only looking at the shape, we can see that it is unique. Indeed, very few skis have a swallowtail, but it is the case of the Sakana. With 105mm underfoot and a very large tip, it is an excellent ski to ride the whole mountain

What is the program of the Line Sakana

When you look at a 105mm waist ski with very wide tips, you probably do not think that it is made to rip on the groomers. However, its designer, Eric Pollard himself, said that they are “made to carve.” He created it to be playful on every side of the mountain, but especially on the pistes. It is hard to give him wrong once you realize how fun it is on that surface. With a short turning radius of 15m, it is really easy to carve, and the large waste is not a handicap at all. The edge hold is good, and you will not feel a lack of stability unless you push the machine really hard, thanks to the carbon reinforcements. On fresh snow, the Sakana also behaves amazingly. The float is excellent for a 105mm ski thanks to the wide tips and the fishtail. The “partly cloud corehelps to save weight and brings playfulness. It also makes it a good option for anyone who is looking for a free touring ski. Indeed, it makes a lot of sense to associate the Sakana with touring bindings.

Who is the Line Sakana for?

The Sakana is made for someone who is looking for a playful ski to use on all the mountain, and that could even be mounted with touring bindings. It carves very well and behaves well anywhere with a good float on the powder. If you are not a very aggressive skier and are looking for a fun ski, that is a ski to look at.

Tips and advice

On glisshop.co.uk, you may feel overwhelmed by the amount of products we sell. How can you find the right skis, which ones can suit your level, your style or your budget?

Your options:

1. The advanced search engine: You'll find it everywhere on our website, as a sidebar on our listing pages. It allows you to select conditions and refine your selection: brand, level, style, etc. When you select them, only the relevant products will show.

2. You can contact us on the 020 3129 3301: skis feature fine technologies and affect your safety. It is important to make sure that the skis you've selected will suit you. Call our landline and get in touch with our team for any questions regarding these products.

During the process or your order, we'll ask you to complete a form about the mounting of your bindings. With these details, we will be able to mount the bindings with the correct settings. The release value of the bindings is set by a professional skiman, and according to the norm AFNOR FD S 52-748.

If you don't have your own ski boots when you order, the bindings will be pre-mounted. The final settings can be done :

- by a shop if you are renting your ski boots

- by our skiman : you can call us for any technical questions. Our skiman will do the final settings for you. Telephone : 020 3129 3301

All skis you purchase on our website are factory-waxed and tuned. This means they are ready to hit the slopes. However, gear tends to wear and in order to keep it in its best shape, you need to maintain base and edges on a regular basis.

Maintaining your skis is essential for a smooth glide and a solit grip. Frequency of maintenance may vary depending on how often you use your skis, or on how damaged they are. We recommend you to wax them every 10 riding days and at the end of the season. Edges need to be tuned up to 2 times per season if you want to keep a good edge control. However, don't overdo it. Tuning is basically scraping off material. If you do it too often, the edges will vanish after some time.

When your base is damaged and shows shallow scratches or rock gouge, it is possible to repair it.

You can get these repairs done by professional ski shop, or if the gouge is only superficial you may repair it yourself. To do so, you will need special tools and materials such as wax, Ptex for repairing bases, edge sharpeners, etc. You can find them on our website.

All products benefit from a manufacturer guarantee, as long as the damage is caused by a manufacturing defect (may it be hidden or obvious).

Usually, the manufacturer guarantee lasts two years.

Only the manufacturer is able to decide if there has been a 'manufacturing defect' or a 'misuse'. Glisshop is only an intermediary between you and the manufacturer.

The manufacturer's guarantee will not apply if the problem comes from a misuse.
