Description

The Elan Sky Jr Shift ski, designed for young skiers, combines innovative technologies with a playful design to deliver an experience perfectly suited to piste skiing. This model focuses on ease of handling and encourages technical progression. On groomed snow and during relaxed days at the resort, this ski provides stability and confidence, making every descent more accessible.

What is the Elan Sky Jr Shift ski made for?

Designed for recreational use on groomers, the Sky Jr Shift is primarily intended for outings on groomed snow. With its 69 mm waist, it is geared towards manoeuvrability and edge grip on hardpack, making it ideal for learning and developing those first carved turns. The presence of a double rocker, both at the tip and tail, makes turn initiation easier while offering forgiveness during transitions and minor trajectory errors. The traditional camber ensures edge hold and stability, while the flat tail increases precision by maintaining constant contact with the snow. Its patented U-Flex technology gives the ski enhanced flexibility, allowing for a more natural flex when initiating turns and reducing the power required. Thanks to this, young skiers quickly discover the joy of moving from edge to edge across the entire ski area.

Who is the Elan Sky Jr Shift ski aimed at?

Developed to support young skiers who are either just starting out or already have some experience on blue or red runs, the Sky Jr Shift is particularly suited to those wishing to progress at their own pace. Its forgiving design reassures from the very first runs, while its lightweight construction helps reduce fatigue throughout the day. Beginner to intermediate skiers will benefit from a tool designed to inspire confidence without excessive difficulty.

Tips and advice

After using our calculator, you can explore further with our guides (depending on your skiing style):

And to see the method in action, here’s our video tutorial (example focused on piste / all-mountain skiing, with useful benchmarks whatever your style).

At glisshop.co.uk, you’ll find one of the most comprehensive ski selections available online. To choose the right pair, start with three simple criteria: your ability level, your preferred terrain (piste, all-mountain, freeride, freestyle, touring), and your budget.

To refine your selection, several options are available:

  1. The advanced search tool: located at the top of each category page, it allows you to filter by brand, skill level, discipline, and more. By combining these filters, you can quickly narrow down the range and easily find the models best suited to your skiing style.

  2. Contact us on 020 3129 3301: a pair of skis is a technical piece of equipment. Before placing your order, it’s best to make sure the model truly meets your expectations. Our team is here to advise you.

To go further and understand the differences between ski types, take a look at our comprehensive guide 'Which skis to choose?'.

During the process or your order, we'll ask you to complete a form about the mounting of your bindings. With these details, we will be able to mount the bindings with the correct settings. The release value of the bindings is set by a professional skiman, and according to the norm AFNOR FD S 52-748.

If you don't have your own ski boots when you order, the bindings will be pre-mounted. The final settings can be done :

- by a shop if you are renting your ski boots

- by our skiman : you can call us for any technical questions. Our skiman will do the final settings for you. Telephone : 020 3129 3301

All skis you purchase on our website are factory-waxed and tuned. This means they are ready to hit the slopes. However, gear tends to wear and in order to keep it in its best shape, you need to maintain base and edges on a regular basis.

Maintaining your skis is essential for a smooth glide and a solit grip. Frequency of maintenance may vary depending on how often you use your skis, or on how damaged they are. We recommend you to wax them every 10 riding days and at the end of the season. Edges need to be tuned up to 2 times per season if you want to keep a good edge control. However, don't overdo it. Tuning is basically scraping off material. If you do it too often, the edges will vanish after some time.

When your base is damaged and shows shallow scratches or rock gouge, it is possible to repair it.

You can get these repairs done by professional ski shop, or if the gouge is only superficial you may repair it yourself. To do so, you will need special tools and materials such as wax, Ptex for repairing bases, edge sharpeners, etc. You can find them on our website.

All products benefit from a manufacturer guarantee, as long as the damage is caused by a manufacturing defect (may it be hidden or obvious).

Usually, the manufacturer guarantee lasts two years.

Only the manufacturer is able to decide if there has been a 'manufacturing defect' or a 'misuse'. Glisshop is only an intermediary between you and the manufacturer.

The manufacturer's guarantee will not apply if the problem comes from a misuse.
