Description

Weighing only 136 g, the BD Recon LT Beacon transceiver from Black Diamond is both ultra-lightweight and highly reliable. Designed with 3 antennas, it offers a maximum range of 50 m, it is very efficient to rescue an avalanche victim or be rescued yourself. The ergonomically-shaped casing is made from a soft material and easy to use with only one hand. It comes with a carrying harness that you wear close to your body, above your second-layer for more comfort. 

The BD Recon LT Beacon transceiver from Black Diamond has a self-check mode that makes sure the device is in working order when it starts. It also benefits from the group check function that allows to check every beacon in the group is operating. The multi-victim mode is used in case of multiple people are buried under the same avalanche. Icons corresponding to the signals emitted by each victim are displayed on screen. Once your teammates start digging for the first victim, the victim marking function allows to search for the next person, as so on.  

The BD Recon LT Beacon also benefits from the Auto-Search-to-Send feature. Disabled by default, it can be activated from the device’s setting or via the Pieps app on your smartphone. The beacon then automatically switches from search to send mode after a certain amount of time without movement, which can be critical in case you get buried under a second avalanche. 

This Black Diamond beacon can also be updated via Bluetooth or USB with a smartphone or computer.
