Adi Dassler wanted to provide every athlete with the best equipment to help them reach their highest performance. His life, his work and his company relied on the very same idea: “No athlete left behind”. In the 60’s, Horst, Adolf’s son, takes the head of the company.

The brand starts expanding and reaches other fields including ball sports and sportswear. Official sponsor of the Munich Olympics in 1972, Adidas changed its logo at around the same time to become the logo we all know, 3 stripes crossing a trefoil (logo still in use on Adidas Originals products). In 1973 Horst creates the brand Arena and buys Le Coq Sportif the next year. He passes away in 1987 which brings a serious crisis into the group. French investor Bernard Tapie buys it in 1990 and the brand changes logo with a mountain made of 3 asymmetrical stripes (still in use on Adidas Performance products). New collection, new distribution policy and more importantly new production relocated in Asia. Robert Louis-Dreyfus buys Adidas company in 1993 and 5 years later it gets publicly traded. In 2002 another logo appears, a globe crossed by 3 stripes (current logo of Adidas Style) and in 2005 the group buys one of its main competitors, Reebok. This is a huge victory for Adidas.

After so many years, Adidas is still a very fashionable brand used by many athletes and worn in the streets worldwide.
