This is probably one of the most notorious cross-country ski ever made. The RCS Skate is a standard in the industry and it returns for 2018 with a few upgrades keeping it at the head of the market. Another change is the IFP plate only compatible with the new Turnamic bindings.
What are the specifications of the Fischer RCS Skate Plus Medium IFP cross-country ski?
Just like the name says, the ski comes with a Medium camber and it’s important as it directly impacts the personality of the ski. This type of camber works either with soft snow conditions or with small and light skiers who need a ski that’s easy to manage. If you belong to the latter category (women included), if you look for a versatile and confidence-inspiring ski, then the RCS Skate is for you. It carries the same high-end base as the one featured on the Carbonlite and Speedmax skis which ensures a high performance glide. The Plus base is highly versatile as it excels on “classic” snow (between -5°C and 2°C). The ski features no carbon in the tips which gives it a smoother and softer character. It doesn’t feel as aggressive on hard snow but it makes it easier to manage. The honeycomb core helps saving weight without compromising torsional stiffness and enhances the grip when skating. Finally, the new IFP plate only works with the new Turnamic bindings. However, these bindings are still compatible with multiple boot standards including NNN, Prolink and of course Turnamic.
Who is the Fischer RCS Skate PLus Medium IFP ski designed for?
We selected this ski with women skiers in mind because not every women can handle a stiff camber. Level-wise, the ski remains fairly easy to manage and it is suitable for most skiers. It is the do-it-all skate ski, it offers a versatile glide, a good stability and a soft camber. The winning combination for all day fun.

Deeper and coarser Plus structure, ideal for warm and moist conditions. Produced using natural diamond.
The finishing touch now comes from Finish First: the term that covers and unites all the individual technological steps in the course of the final treatment of the base.
Skating construction with HM carbon laminates to reduce ski tip mass. Requires less effort thanks to reduced pendulum action.
Reinforced ski chassis ensures longer service life. Homogeneous pressure distribution ensures uniform wax wear.
The next generation in ski pairing: fully automatic dynamic measurements of a multitude of pairing criteria ensures precise ski choice and optimised pairing.
Infrared preparation of the base with hot fluorinated wax. Great glide properties, protects from dirt and oxydation. Powered by Swix.
Special camber and snow contact points further apart from each other mean increased stability and a more powerful kick action on hard snow.
The most successful ski core with over 80% air content for extremely light weight. Optimum performance thanks to torsion-free and break-resistant technology.
