Poles Expedition 3 Whippet Desert Sage

The Black Diamond Expedition 3 Whippet Desert Sage is a telescopic ski touring pole with Whippet ice axe and three sections, designed to adapt to the different phases of a day out. The two FlickLock systems make it easy to adjust the length to suit the terrain, while the aluminium construction keeps the design simple and robust. Once shortened, the three sections also make the pole easier to store and carry.

The handle extends into an EVA foam grip zone that offers several hand positions, especially when there is no need to change the pole length. It also includes several practical features for the climb: the straight-edged pommel is used to scrape accumulated snow off the skis, while a textured rubber pick tip helps to flip the heel lifters on the bindings. The 100 mm Powder basket completes the set-up for winter use.

This pole can be adjusted between 100 and 140 cm thanks to its two FlickLock systems.
