Product description — Expedition Carbon Pro Khaki

The Black Diamond Expedition Carbon Pro Khaki is a telescopic ski touring pole designed for regular days out in the mountains. Its two-section carbon construction, with 16 mm and 18 mm sections, combines an adjustable format with a design built for ski travel. The EVA foam grip extensions let you change hand position without having to adjust the pole length every time, particularly when the gradient changes.

The Expedition grip brings together several features that come in handy while skinning uphill. Its straight-edged pommel can be used as a scraper, while the textured rubber tip makes it easy to flip heel lifts and operate bindings without having to bend down. The 100 mm articulated powder baskets are suited to use in deep snow, and the Flex tips can be replaced once they are worn or damaged.

How do you adjust the length of the Black Diamond Expedition Carbon Pro?

The FlickLock Pro system adjusts the pole length at the joint between the two sections. This lets you adapt the length to the conditions you meet during the day.

Which tools are built into the poles?

A PH3 screwdriver bit and a 1.5 mm hex key are concealed in the lower section. They are always on hand for minor adjustments or repairs in the field.

Can the wrist straps be removed?

Yes. The wrist straps are attached with a simple lark's head knot, so they can be taken off quickly when you would rather not use them.
