Poles Expedition Piton Purple

The Black Diamond Expedition Piton Purple ski touring poles are built for regular days in the mountains, with a simple, adjustable and durable construction. The two-section aluminium design makes it easy to change the length using the FlickLock systems, particularly when switching between ascent and descent. The EVA foam grip extension also gives several hand positions when the slope changes, so there is no need to adjust the pole length every time.

The handle combines several features that prove useful in the field. Its straight-edged pommel can be used to scrape snow or ice off your skis, while the textured rubber pick tip makes it easier to handle heel lifts and bindings during the skin ascent. The wrist straps can be detached if you prefer to use the poles without them. A functional design intended to keep adjustments to a minimum on ski touring outings.

What is the built-in screwdriver bit for?

A PH3 bit is built into the lower section so that you can carry out certain repairs or adjustments in the field without carrying a separate screwdriver.

Can the wrist straps be removed?

Yes. They are attached with a lark's head knot, so they can easily be detached if you want to ski without wrist straps.
