The Atomic Backland 85 W is designed for alpine touring, when you want to experience has much pleasure in the climb as in the descent. With an ultra-light wood core and 85 mm waist this ski is agile and responsive for the ascent, but also stable and easy to handle for the descent. The HRZN technology enhances the tip surface area and improves nimbleness in every condition.

What is the program of the Atomic Backland 85 W ski?

The Atomic Backland 85 W is an extremely versatile ski, ready for alpine touring. With a weight of 1080 grams per ski, it is everything you need in terms of lightness on steep terrain. It features an ultra-lightweight wood core, making it very enjoyable in the ascent. On each side of the core, fiberglass inserts provide stability and gliding smoothness. A carbon insert runs on the entire ski length and offers amazing agility and great edge hold in the descent. The HRZN technology improves the tip surface area to enhance floatability in powder, nimbleness and handling on packed snow. Still at the tip, you will find a groove to facilitate skin installation. A light 15 % rocker at the front improves the Backland 85 W’s ability to adapt to various terrains. With a relatively long turn radius (16 m in size 165), it will allow you to trace beautiful tracks in the virgin snow you can find ski touring.

During the process or your order, we'll ask you to complete a form about the mounting of your bindings. With these details, we will be able to mount the bindings with the correct settings. The release value of the bindings is set by a professional skiman, and according to the norm AFNOR FD S 52-748.

If you don't have your own ski boots when you order, the bindings will be pre-mounted. The final settings can be done :

- by a shop if you are renting your ski boots

All skis you purchase on our website are factory-waxed and tuned. This means they are ready to hit the slopes. However, gear tends to wear and in order to keep it in its best shape, you need to maintain base and edges on a regular basis.

Maintaining your skis is essential for a smooth glide and a solit grip. Frequency of maintenance may vary depending on how often you use your skis, or on how damaged they are. We recommend you to wax them every 10 riding days and at the end of the season. Edges need to be tuned up to 2 times per season if you want to keep a good edge control. However, don't overdo it. Tuning is basically scraping off material. If you do it too often, the edges will vanish after some time.

When your base is damaged and shows shallow scratches or rock gouge, it is possible to repair it.

You can get these repairs done by professional ski shop, or if the gouge is only superficial you may repair it yourself. To do so, you will need special tools and materials such as wax, Ptex for repairing bases, edge sharpeners, etc. You can find them on our website.

All products benefit from a manufacturer guarantee, as long as the damage is caused by a manufacturing defect (may it be hidden or obvious).

Usually, the manufacturer guarantee lasts two years.

Only the manufacturer is able to decide if there has been a 'manufacturing defect' or a 'misuse'. Glisshop is only an intermediary between you and the manufacturer.

The manufacturer's guarantee will not apply if the problem comes from a misuse.
