Description

The Amplid Pentaquark is a snowboard designed for carving enthusiasts. Its shape is slightly directional to facilitate handling in alpine style but will allow the most skilled riders to carve in switch. Indeed, the tail is marginally narrower than the nose and the inserts are only very slightly positioned toward the back, not enough to disturb you. The construction provides lots of lightness and power, with a Lite Core, biaxial fibre, a lightweight honeycomb structure at the tips to save a few grams, as well as a powerful carbon insert at the tail. The Pentaquark fully benefits from it and with its substantial classic camber on the entire length of the board you get a carving beast that cuts through the slopes with amazing edge hold, links turns with ease and finesse, as long as your technique is on point and that rebounds between each turn thanks to the boost offered by the carbon insert. Everything to please advanced to expert snowboarders looking for a powerful board, without being stiff as a board either (no pun intended), with which they will be able to carve powerfully and have a blast on groomers.

Tips and advice

The length of your board is extremely important. Several parameters have to be taken into account : Your height, your weight, your level and your program (allmountain-freeride-freestyle). We created a calculator that will tell you what size of board would suit you best, once you've completed these parameters. You can also call us (+33 4 73 26 98 47) to get a personal advice from our experienced team.
The snowboards you'll purchase on our website are all factory waxed and tuned. That means it's ready to hit the slopes. However, that doesn't work forever, and in order to keep your equipment at the top performance, you need to maintain base and edges on a regular basis.
Maintaining your skis is essential to ensure an optimal glide and grip. Frequency of maintenance may vary depending on how often you use your board, or on how damaged it is. We recommend that you wax it every 10 riding days, and at the end of the season. Edges need to be tuned up to 2 times per season if you want to keep a good edge control. However, don't get them overtuned because every tuning takes some of the steel off.

When your base is damaged and shows shallow scratches or rock gouge, it is possible to repair it.

You can get these repairs done by professional ski shop, or if the gouge is only superficial you may repair it yourself. To do so, you will need special tools and materials such as wax, Ptex for repairing bases, edge tuners, etc. You can find them on our website.
