Description

The Carver is a snowboard developed by Bataleon to offer the most precision and intensity possible in carving, yet that works very well off-piste in deep conditions. It is a very powerful board, with a lightweight wood core, reinforced by layers of triaxial glass fibre and carbon. This offers a very firm flex and lots of rebound and stability. You also find carbon tubes along the edges to provide amazing edge hold, maximum grip and power to lean far with full commitment in carved turns. The very pronounced classic camber allows to fully benefit from this construction, to carve through corduroy and enjoy maximum rebound between turns. The Sidekick and 3BT shape technologies, now Bataleon trademarks, subtly raise the edges of the board, differently between the nose, middle and tail, to provide more smoothness and reduce the risk of edge catch without hindering the performance level. Finally, the tapered shape from nose to tail, along with the setback stance provide lots of control and a natural ability to lift in powder as your weight is placed further back. This lets you enjoy off-piste powder when the conditions are there! A board for advanced/expert snowboarders with good skills as the stiffness requires to be confident and does not leave any room for hesitation.

Tips and advice

The length of your board is extremely important. Several parameters have to be taken into account : Your height, your weight, your level and your program (allmountain-freeride-freestyle). We created a calculator that will tell you what size of board would suit you best, once you've completed these parameters. You can also call us (+33 4 73 26 98 47) to get a personal advice from our experienced team.
The snowboards you'll purchase on our website are all factory waxed and tuned. That means it's ready to hit the slopes. However, that doesn't work forever, and in order to keep your equipment at the top performance, you need to maintain base and edges on a regular basis.
Maintaining your skis is essential to ensure an optimal glide and grip. Frequency of maintenance may vary depending on how often you use your board, or on how damaged it is. We recommend that you wax it every 10 riding days, and at the end of the season. Edges need to be tuned up to 2 times per season if you want to keep a good edge control. However, don't get them overtuned because every tuning takes some of the steel off.

When your base is damaged and shows shallow scratches or rock gouge, it is possible to repair it.

You can get these repairs done by professional ski shop, or if the gouge is only superficial you may repair it yourself. To do so, you will need special tools and materials such as wax, Ptex for repairing bases, edge tuners, etc. You can find them on our website.
