Description

The Bataleon Thunder is an all-mountain freeride directional snowboard that still has good freestyle abilities with the presence of a real tail. The inserts have some setback to ensure the floatability in fresh snow. The board features a Light Core wood core, triaxial glass fibre and carbon reinforcements. This construction offers beautiful performances, lots of rebound, dynamism and stability. The Thunder remains physically accessible with a medium/stiff flex. The classic camber gets the best out of the high-end construction, it guarantees pop for ollies, rebound between turns and or course, good grip on hardpack. With this model, Bataleon offers a snowboard combining versatility and performance for freeride and aggressive freestyle/all-mountain.

Tips and advice

The length of your board is extremely important. Several parameters have to be taken into account : Your height, your weight, your level and your program (allmountain-freeride-freestyle). We created a calculator that will tell you what size of board would suit you best, once you've completed these parameters. You can also call us (+33 4 73 26 98 47) to get a personal advice from our experienced team.
The snowboards you'll purchase on our website are all factory waxed and tuned. That means it's ready to hit the slopes. However, that doesn't work forever, and in order to keep your equipment at the top performance, you need to maintain base and edges on a regular basis.
Maintaining your skis is essential to ensure an optimal glide and grip. Frequency of maintenance may vary depending on how often you use your board, or on how damaged it is. We recommend that you wax it every 10 riding days, and at the end of the season. Edges need to be tuned up to 2 times per season if you want to keep a good edge control. However, don't get them overtuned because every tuning takes some of the steel off.

When your base is damaged and shows shallow scratches or rock gouge, it is possible to repair it.

You can get these repairs done by professional ski shop, or if the gouge is only superficial you may repair it yourself. To do so, you will need special tools and materials such as wax, Ptex for repairing bases, edge tuners, etc. You can find them on our website.
