Description

If Borealis usually has a rather freestyle orientation, the Taiga shows that freestyle is also in the brand's DNA. Like all Borealis snowboards, the Taiga uses a wood shell from sustainably managed forests and an environmentally friendly glue made from plant-based materials.  In addition, its bamboo topsheet is a sustainable alternative to plastic topsheets, which are still predominant in the snowboard industry.

What is the programme of the Borealis Taiga snowboard?

The Taiga offers a flex well balanced between performance and accessibility. It is dynamic and offers ollie pop, but remains easy to ride and playful on the spatulas. Its flat camber and rockers provide a lot of playability and forgiveness for jib tricks, flat tricks, rails, boxes, etc. You retain the necessary grip to ride on the track, but you quickly recognize its limitations if you try to carve. On the other hand, on the edges of the track and in powder snow, the Taiga benefits from a good little flotation which allows you to really have fun. You have understood it, it is a board which privileges fun and with which you can place tricks in all the corners of the resort.

Who is the Borealis Taiga snowboard intended for?

This model is intended for snowboarders looking for maximum playability in freestyle, while still retaining a certain versatility for riding on the slopes and the powder on the edges of the slopes.

What are the main qualities of the Borealis Taiga snowboard?

Tips and advice

The length of your board is extremely important. Several parameters have to be taken into account : Your height, your weight, your level and your program (allmountain-freeride-freestyle). We created a calculator that will tell you what size of board would suit you best, once you've completed these parameters. You can also call us (+33 4 73 26 98 47) to get a personal advice from our experienced team.
The snowboards you'll purchase on our website are all factory waxed and tuned. That means it's ready to hit the slopes. However, that doesn't work forever, and in order to keep your equipment at the top performance, you need to maintain base and edges on a regular basis.
Maintaining your skis is essential to ensure an optimal glide and grip. Frequency of maintenance may vary depending on how often you use your board, or on how damaged it is. We recommend that you wax it every 10 riding days, and at the end of the season. Edges need to be tuned up to 2 times per season if you want to keep a good edge control. However, don't get them overtuned because every tuning takes some of the steel off.

When your base is damaged and shows shallow scratches or rock gouge, it is possible to repair it.

You can get these repairs done by professional ski shop, or if the gouge is only superficial you may repair it yourself. To do so, you will need special tools and materials such as wax, Ptex for repairing bases, edge tuners, etc. You can find them on our website.
